weird sensations

I am 20w3d and lately, when I wake up, I notice that my abdomen is really really tight. I first thought that it was the baby moving, but when I touch my lower tummy it just feels like a rock. I don't feel any movement. When I sit up and walk around it kinda goes away. Today though, it happened while I was washing the dishes. I sat down and it didn't go away , and it still didn't go away until I stood up for a while., Anyone have the same sensation? I was going to bring it up to my dr when I see him in two weeks. I 'm just curious about what it could be.

Thanks! I feel much better now. I spoke with a friend who is a nurse today and she said it could be braxton hicks contractions or the reason it happens when I wake up in the morning could be that I am sleeping on my back too much and my uterus is contracting to try and increase blood flow. I think I will do the same as you guys and still bring it up to my doctor at my next visit.

I had this happen to me, its like a weird feeling right below my belly button, and my stomach gets really hard. I told my doctor about it and she said that it could be the baby pushing on your uterus. And then I thought about it and the next time it happened it made alot of since. So it could Possibly be ur baby pushing on you. :) hope that helps

I get them very frequently and I think they are just practice contractions. I brought it up at my dr.s appointment last time and he said he wouldn't worry unless they happened too often. However, you should bring it up at your next appointment. I also know that it can be the lack of water intake. You should try drinking more water.

earlier in my pregnancy I wasn't having consistent bowel movements,  but lately I have. I talked with a friend who is on her third little one but she hasn't had it happen to her before. It doesn't hurt or anything it just scares me that I don't know anyone who has had the same sensation. Ya know. Thank you guys for the responses.

The only time my belly really really tightens is during a contraction but I don't think yours is from that because u would know for sure it could be the position of you wee one and once your up and moving it settles elsewhere other then that I'm sorry I can't be of more help :-(
