Cord blood donation?

I don't know much about this but have recently heard about it. I have done a little research, but was wondering if anyone else had personal experience with this or was considering it? Does anyone know of any possible risks? Any input would be appreciated.

I've never heard of a public bank cord blood center. Most people do it to use it for their own children should something happen, God forbid!! Let me know what public center you find.
