Hospital bag

Have any June mommies started on packing hospital bag? How big of a bag did you buy? I bought a tote that maybe used when traveling for an overnight basic trip.Do think it will be big enough?

I used his diaper bag for lotion, dry shampoo, razor, hair ties, toiletries, germ x, baby wipes (for my face), and a couple going home outfits for little man with one preemie & two newborn, and one 0-3, and a swaddlers I prefer over the receiving blankets they use, scratch mittens, mints, a must-call list, and two trash bags and a towel because it's a 45 minute drive to the hospital and I don't wanna clean up AF or vomit in hubby's car. Back pack for hubby's clothes & my robe, 2 comfy bras, 3 grannies panties, tank, tee, gym shorts, yoga pants, and going home outfit. Plus the nippy of course! Doesn't look like much all packed. 2nd time mom so just incase anyone's stumped. (:

^^ to lizashley_xo... We're due about the same time, it's good to have Ur bag packed early, my last 2 babies arrived 2+ wks earlier than their due date. It's just one less thing to think about, I pack the bags and they just sit in the closet or garage until it's time. As far as the baby clothes, yes you will need newborn sz clothes. Babies grow fast but will wear newborn sz for a month or 2. My son was 8lbs and wore newborn for 2 mo. U can bring 1-3 mo outfit to the hospital just for peace of mind. At the hospital, I keep the baby in the shirt they put them in. It's long sleeve & bottuns down, it makes care of the umbilical cord much easier. & 2 newborn outfits for baby. I don't take a whole diaper bag. For clothes @ home I have newborn sz-5 onesies, 5 footed pjs, some hats, & 1-cute outfit. About the same goes for sz 3 mo. I've washed all the clothes in free & clear detergent. Check out Pinterest there are some good lists for what you need at the hospital & what baby really needs.

In my baby boy hostipal bag I have all white onesie because they say his clothes will get stained from the purple dye they put on the umbilical cord. Those sizes are 2 new born and six 0-3 months. Then I have two outfits packed. One is size new born and other is 3 months. Hopes this gives you an idea of how to pack for your little one.

I packed mine a couple of days ago. I have two normal sized bags for myself. One is for clothing, and then the other is for shoes and personal hygine things. Then I have a separate bag for my baby boy.

Well I'm glad I came to this post..! I'm due with my first little one on June 12th & I didn't think I needed to have a bag ready yet for awhile.. >.< So I'm happy to have read everyone's comments so I know what to start packing soon..! In regards to baby clothes, obviously they need to be washed before wearing, but I don't know if my baby will need to wear newborn or be too big right away.. Do you still wash & bring a few newborn size, along with 3 months size & wait on other newborn clothes you've received in case you want to return..? I might start a post with this question in case people don't read my full comment, but I figured I'd try it first under hospital bag stuff.. Thanks ahead of time :)
