found out im pregnant yesterday, how do i tell my parents

Hello, I'm 23 y/o I'll be 24 in February. Me and my boyfriend have been dating for almost 5 years now, and love each other very much. Everyone we know will be very excited to hear the news except I have 2 problems...my parents and my job. My parents are strong believing Christians and my mother is a childrens ministry director, so for me getting pregnant before getting married could possibly get her fired. Also I am a teacher at a christian school and will be fired once they find out i am pregnant as well...my boyfriend doesnt make enough to support all 3 of us either... i guess my question is what do i do? When do i tell people? How do i tell people...?

Good luck! those other mamas are right... God has a plan and your little one is a blessing. This seems like a really tough situation. Im sure it will all work out in the end.

I think what does upset me though is the fact that my boyfriend has been saving up for our engagement ring too...since before we even knew. So it's not like we weren't planning on getting married.

Thank you all for your support. I think I'm going to wait for the right time when I feel comfortable. And I agree 100% that the jobs situation is completely unfair. I thank God for my precious little one and although we had planned to wait a little bit longer, our baby is our baby and whether it be june 2015 or 2017 does not change how much I care and love my little one. Again thank you ladies for your support, I feel much more confident today then yesterday.

I cannot see how you would get the bein from your job without it being unfair dismissal :( and a Christian with values would see the baby as a blessing from God not sin!!

You hun you tell them when you are ready. I am a Christian myself and I had my first child when I was 19 years old, out of wedlock and the father wasn't in the picture. I kept my son secret from my parents for 2 years and when they found out I had a baby they weren't mad they were more upset I kept it a secret and kept their grand baby away from them. It i scary but one thing I learn from that is honesty is the best policy and trust God. He had a plan for us. I will keep you all in my prayers hun. Hang in there and remember children are a blessing from God. So don't let your situation or fear forget that. And you are not alone.

I'd get married this week in front of a judge, and amaze your family.  Then at your leisure you can tell them you are pregnant.  Then the baby can come "early" -- your boss and your mom's boss might have a question mark in their minds but they will be unable to access your medical records to prove you were pregnant when you married, and that removes their ability to come in with their flaming swords and cause everyone misery in the name of deeply held beliefs.  (I don't think firing you for getting pregnant is legal, even in the Christian community.)

If you are going to say, "But we wanted a big wedding!" all I can say is that given the situation, and the judgemental nature of your communities, you have taken that one off the table.  It is cool and distinguished to stand up before a judge and get married in 15 minutes on your lunch hour, and very practical also.  You can have a big party to celebrate, in a couple of months, if you like.

Regarding whether your boyfriend makes enough to support all three of you, lots of women work through their pregnancies and come back after the baby is born.  See what you can do there.

I think you should tell people when you feel ready. Maybe you should look for another job before you go any farther.
