I am so scared of this glucose test it's freaking me out

I take mine tomorrow morning. I am so scared and nervous. Sweet stuff already make me feel sick this pregnancy and now that I'm in third trimester i done started back throwing up. My fear is i will fail. I see alot of ladies saying they failed. Any thing in particular you had going on as a heads up you would fail now that you have your results? Certain symptoms?

So idk how it will be at your appointment, but when I got my glucose test I had the option of fruit punch, Orange, or lemon lime. Choose lemon lime if you get the choice. It tastes like flat sprite and isn't bad at all!! For the 3 hour test I had to have fruit punch and it is yuck! Good luck!

I was told if fail you have to retest and longer wait time. Instead of 1 hour it will be 3 hours.

I had to fast. I guess every midwife does it different. I am starving with 15 mins left!!! They told me a week but I will call them in 3 days.

I do mine today. I called my dr and the nurse said to just eat egg or peanut butter...anything that has protien. Stay away from furits,jucoes, and anything else sugary.

Thank you!!! Am here now and I drunk the clear juice...it was hard to sip cause I'm not into sweets so I chugged it.Just hope it stay down and I pass. 30 more minutes til blood draw

Just got my results back. I passed! I feel like I spent most of this pregnancy walking around eating pixie sticks. Just goes to show that you never know whats going to happen. I'm sure you'll pass. Good luck!

No worries.  Its not the end of the world.  If u fail the 1 hr test u still have a chance to pass the 3 hr. Just fast and all will be ok. Good luck!

No need in freaking out...all that will do is raise your blood pressure and cause other issues. The test is very simple, the "juice" that they make you drink is not that bad...really just hold your breathe and swallow. If you fail, that doesn't mean you did anything wrong, it just let's the docs know to watch the babies growth. You do have to fast before the test, I was asked to eat protein (eggs andn bacon) for breakfast, but you must stay away from carbs, fruit, caffeine, sugar, juice, etc. Again...It's just one of the many test we have to take, but nothing to be worried about. Don't worry, it will be ok. The test is easy.  One symptom my friend had before she found out she had gestational diabetes is fainting spells. She would occasionally get very dizzy and nauseous. Also, she gained a lot of weight very fast. Her baby was also measuring very big. Hope that helps
