This will be my 3rd baby. I have always waited for as long as possible. We go out for walks around the block & outside on the patio. Of course dr apts but that's it. My husband & I are great w tag teaming the kids. He'll take the older ones out for fun adventures, then he helps w the newborn so our other kids still get mommy time. But we avoid stores/big crowds w the newborn for about 3 months or longer. Newborns have no immunity to the outside world, my niece at 1 mo got very sick after they took her out, she ended up in the hospital for a month.

I didn't put too much thought into it. With my daughter I took her out everywhere... i was 19, young and ignorant. I think back and wonder what in the world I was thinking. This time I plan on taking it easy at home. I might go for a walk here and there in the first couple weeks but I don't plan on taking my baby out into the public not only because the risk of germs but also because we will need to rest.

For a walk probably within the first week but I'll wait to take him to family homes until after vaccines

As soon as I can. Normally have a Dr appointment next day after release and Wic appointments. I also have a active 6 year old who has suffered enough so I will be making up lost time with her.

I plan on taking baby outside (like in nature) pretty soon after she's born,  but will be avoiding large crowds as much as possible until she's vaccinated.

Probably a few days after he is born I have another child and I can't make her stay home for her summer vaccation. I took my daughter  outside 4 days after her birth and she is a perfect healthy girl.

Probably out and about the day he is born as I am not staying at the hospital very long. No harm in it. I have two older kids so I will be busy taking care of them too

Waiting until after baby gets vaccinated, no point putting my child's health at risk.

I had my daughter out walking the day we got home from the hospital. She is almost a year old now and only been sick once. I will be doing the same with my son.

Won't be waiting anytime, I have a 5 year old to take to school and need to go out to get her registered for her birth certificate and we like to get that done in the 1st week. It's just not possible for me to spend anytime in doors, with another child that has needs to. I never waited with my first either. In the UK we aren't told to stay in for any period of time.

In my culture (im mexican) we wait 40 days for mommies and babies to leave the house ...unless needed like for a doctor

Not long, I hope. If she's healthy, and I'm feeling well, we'll start going outside soon after birth.
