meds and baby

Hi Everyone,  I just found out that I am pregnant.  This was very unexpected, but I guess the best surprises are!  I have been taking Diovan (blood pressure med) up until this point and just read that it should not be taken when pregnant.  I am about 6 weeks along. What effect will this have on my baby up to this point?  This has me very worried!

I have high blood pressure as well, and as soon as I got my BFP, the Dr. said to stop taking the meds I was on, and I was put on Methyldopa, which is one of the two approved anti-hypertension meds for PG. Stop taking what you were on and get into the Dr. ASAP!!

Sorry, I don't know what effect it could have on the baby, lots of luck to you!

Hope this helps :)

Agree with Irish741.  I am sure that your doctor will want to see you right away due to your condition.  I am assuming you have high blood pressure?

First of all CONGRATS!!!

Second----I am not sure what the med will do now that you a pregnant. I would call your doc immediately before you take anymore to find out. If you can't reach your doc, I would call your local pharmacy. They can give you some good info too.
