WOW - I am a mom! Last night contractions started at about 9:30 pm while I was watching Brothers and Sisters on TV - I tracked at home for about 1 1/2 hours. Then the contractions got intense - so I called the DR on call. She said to take a hot shower and drink water. I called in tears an hour later. We grabbed a cab to the hospital - which is 2 miles from home. As of last Thursday I was 1-2 CM dilated, no contractions and fully effaced. By 12 am on Sunday night - I was 4 CM and fully effaced.
Got that epidural at about 1, they broke my water at about 1:45 am and we just relaxed in our room. At 5:15 am I paged nurse - even with the epidural I feel like she was coming and like i had to hold my legs closed. She never did drop - but boy once we got started she was coming out!
After about 15 hard pushes - and ladies def. bare down and PUSH - she came out - 30 mins later.
Breastfeeding has been great - and we are on cloud nine. Could not have gone better. Sore down there now - I tore.

Oh - she pooped in utero - so they had pediatrics on hand to suction if needed - but she came out WAILING.

Awww.... what a great story!!! Sounds like everything went really well for both you and baby. Glad you are having an easy time breast feeding... we had one heck of a start to that!!! (That's a whole 'nother topic though ;)
Oh, my gosh! I skipped yesterday and everybody had their babies! Congratulations Jem! She is cute!!!!! I'm glad breastfeeding is going well. I didn't have any problems either and really enjoyed the time alone with my baby!

Congratulations! I figured I was going to beat you but alas I am still pregnant. It's good to hear that everything went quickly for you. Heal quickly and enjoy your baby.
