oh also, during my whole pregnancy i had light menstrual cramps...i was told by the dr that cramping is normal because even a spec of dust in your uterus does alot to your system...keep your head up high...i bled and cramped...i cried..you may be really stressed... as soon as they do that U/S if the baby has a HB the miscarriage is a 10% versus a 50%...i would definately go to the ER...you do know that your blood type has alot to do with miscarriages right.. the RH in your blood whether you are positive or negative.. if you are negative you need some type of shot to carry the baby especially if its positive...

I am 9weeks and have been having light brown/tan spotting for about 4 weeks now (off and on). One day it was noticably heavier and a darker shade so i went to the ER for some tests and they too found a bleed. Everything else was just fine though. The darker spotting lasted about a week and then went away. Now I am back to having very very light brown/tan spotting. Doc said there was nothing for me to worry about at this point.

I would definitely go to the ER (don't wait for your check-up...especially since you have had associated cramps) and get a thorough check-up, especially since you have had previous m/c. I would think you would be on a pretty high watch list for a while.

Hang in there...sounds like spotting is more common than we all think, eh?

Hi there. I am 9 weeks and have been spotting with brown discharge for 3 weeks off and on. Everytime I have gone to the doc (which is like twice a week) things check out fine. Cervix is closed, baby is growing, hormones increasing and baby's heart is beating beautifully.. .however, seeing brown discharge/blood still scares the **** out of me. We have been ttc for 18 months and aggressively. I feel so scared. I just want to get passed this. Seems there are some reasons for the spotting, and then again NO reason for it. They haven't found a subchorionic bleed on me (they can see it on u/s). They say it could be from the hormones I am on. Very stressed out, even though i should relax. I have no cramping. But this week since Sunday night, every night I get brown discharge that lasts a few hours and subsides. If you have any questions or just want to talk, please contact me. I pray for it to stop so I can relax. Every twinge I feel makes me panic and ask, "is that a cramp."  From what I have been told, you can have blood, but until its heavy with tissue and cramping and soaks through pads, like a period, its just "spotting" and can be normal. Some women spott through the 9 months of their pregnancy. Hopefully that won't be us. Keep in touch. I am praying for you :)

I would go to your ER and have them check to see if your cervix is still closed.  If it is then everything should be alright, but they should check baby' heart on ultrasound to reassure you.  I've been wondering how things are going for you, I'll pray for you.

I will be thinking of you, take it easy, stay in bed. Have you had testing doen to see why you keep miscarrying? I'm glad your cramps went away, that might be a good thing.

HANG IN THERE -- this happened to me last week. I had some fresh blood come up - went to the ER. They did blood work, a vaginal exam and u/s - EVERYTHING WAS FINE. They found I had a very small "subchorionic hemmorhage" which is more common than you think. Take it super easy they said - no sex, no working out. They usually clear up on their own. Feel free to go to the ER - it gave me so much peace of mind. The baby checked out perfectly last week - and I am even going back today to see how things are.

I thought I was having my 3rd miscarriage but it was OK. So it does not mean you *are* miscarrying.

Let us know.
