Test the placenta?

So I was diagnosed with melanoma this last feb. I go in tomorrow for my 3 month check up.I got lucky with stage 0 and just had to have them removed.  A little nervous because pregnancy can cause the cancer cells to grow faster. I had genetic testing done as as per markers already identified, it's not genetic. That means the 4 months of using a tanning bed once or twice a week and years of laying out in the sun caused it. This cancer is also the only cancer that can be passed to the baby through the placenta.  I'm trying to decide if I should get the placenta tested when baby boy is born. Opinions?

Yes, if it passed through the placenta it means the baby would be born with cancer. It's a scary cancer. Biggest numbers on the rise are 18-35. Besides tanning in the sun, many of us used tanning beds at some point which I creases your chance by almost 80%.  I thinking I will. If you look up baby Nora on Facebook,  she's a little warrior who was born with cancer. I've been following her story.
