Update on Appointment

Well, I just got back from my check-up.  This was my first 2 week appointment and it didn't go as well as I had planned.  I did the usual blood work (checking for Syphilis...FUN!), urine and blood pressure.  We listened to Reece's heartbeat, which sounds like galloping horses and doctor measured me.  I'm 31w2d today!  The problem is my blood pressure is creeping up and doc didn't like it, so she is starting me on medication and I will start to see her weekly until Reece makes his grand appearance.  I go back March 30 for a NST.

Yeah, and I'm thankful they are being cautious, because pre-eclampsia is some dangerous stuff!

I have that white coat syndrome!  I don't care if I'm going for a check up or just a chat, I get nervous.  I don't know why they can't do all the routine stuff towards the end...

It's slightly above normal so they are just airing on the side of caution, which is good!  If you're anything like me though I have white coat syndrome and mine goes up whenever I go in the office, but if I have it checked at the end of the visit when I'm at ease with everything it's perfectly normal.  I wouldn't worry every effort made is to safe guard you and the babs, they are always over cautious!

Well, for the last 2 visits, it's been 140s over 90s.  Then they get me in the room and laying on my side and it always goes down.  I always thought it was because I had my u/s before taking blood pressure and I was just nervous from the u/s (Reece's size).  Well, no u/s today and it was 142/94.  Got in the room and it was 134/74.

Thanks girls!  My bp isn't that high, just a little elevated, so I'm hoping this medication will help and nothing more will come from it.
