Missed Period, Negative HPT

PLEASE HELP!! My period was due 2 days ago (Tuesday), but has not arrived. I took the ept HPT this morning and it was negative. Is it possible I can be pregnant and it's just too early? I thought that by the time your period was due, the Home pregnancy test should be testing positive by now IF I am pregnant. I just want to know if I should definately rule it out, because by now it should show positive.

Also, on Tuesday & Wednesday when my period was due, I did spot a very, very, very tiny amount of blood. When I say tiny, I mean when I wiped it was barely there, but It was no where near bleeding. Less than even spotting.

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a few months now. I have never missed a period before, I am not stressed, I'm not on any medication....and I've had nausea the past 2 days.

I'm just totally confused, I just want to know if I could be pregnant and it's just not showing up yet or if I'm definately not pregnant? Please, please someone help.

Thanks :D

thanks for your comments...and the baby dust...CONGRATS to hkenny!! Wow, that is wonderful!!

Unfortunately what seems to be AF arrived Sat. night :( I'm totally disppointed. I just am so suprised because I've never had a late period, or an unusual period and I felt so nauseous. So I don't even know what my cycle length is now for trying again this upcoming month??

Well we'll keep trying, hoping that baby dust works for me next month!!! Congrats again to you hkenny~

luv-bug,
I was 17dpo b4 I got my BFP, so I was 3 days late. You could of had late implantation, that could have been what caused the traces of blood. I would wait it out a couple of days and then test again if af has not arrived. GOOD LUCK.......SSBD!!!

Thank you so much for your comment Heidi!! I'm not getting my hopes up, I just know my body and I've never missed AF or been late! I've done some reading & research and It does seem to me that it's possible that I could be preggo and that I just need to wait 4 days or so before I re-test~

With my first daughter (15 months now) the day I missed my period the HPT lit up immediately, undeniably positive, so hopefully both of us are just testing too soon!

good luck, lots of baby dust for you!!! I'll post again when I do find out by AF or BFP :D

i dont want to get your hopes up, but in my opinion yes you could still be pregnant, i was reading in my prego book last night that not all implantation will occur between 6-8 days after ovulation, in fact (canadian book) 80% of the population has implanatation occuring 10-12 after ovulation. this is 2-4 days before your expected period. this being the case the hcg hormone would not be present yet in high amounts on the day of your missed period but more likely a week later. you may also notice cramps around the time your af is due, this is due to the hormones in your body and your body adjusting to them.
you may have experianced implantation spotting.
it also went on to say is a small % of the population implantation will occur after af is due. thus resulting in a negative hpt.

my af was due yesterday and i did an hpt tuesday, it was a bfn. i am so scared to re-test that i havent bothered! i would rather not know than get anthoer bfn. no af yet, but cramps!
maybe our bodies are just slower than average!
heres hoping  lots of stickt baby dust to us!!!!!!!****************************
