update today on my glucose levels

ok so today i went to have my glucose test done and b4 i even drank the drink i was border line so they gave a strict diet to go by for the next 3 wks until i can get back in and at that time will do test after the drink. other than that all is good, cervix is still good, and baby is good and growing and getting huge lol and still breech at 28 wks..... errrr but all is good.........hoping i don't get gestational diabetes :(((( :)

thanks you guys....will be thinking of you guys as well, if i fail the test tusday i will have to go straight to hospital up the road for 3 hr test.....so hoping i pass.  :)

i have to go in on the 11th to do what they call 2hr glucose test. they did a 1hr back at my first appt and it was fine, so i dont think i have to worry about it. only reason they did one so early is because of my age, and the fact that my mom was diagnosed with diabetes around her 40's so they just wanted to make sure. i will let you know how that goes....after next week i will start going to doc every 2 weeks....that is exciting cause it means we are getting closer to D day....lol

Well I did the 3hour one and all in all couldn't eat or drink anything but water for 11 hours, it was a nightmare and not very practical for a pregnant woman, I spent the whole time gagging.  I don't know about numbers because in England they don't tell you things like that, they just ring you at the end of the day and say whether you have passed or not, but by all accounts loads of people fail the one hour test and have to do the longer one, so I wouldn't worry.

Ok so i finished out the work day and i think i am done having my pity party!  I am going back to do the 3 hour test next Friday and i am hoping it doesn't take a week to find out the results this time.  I have to fast for 6 hours and i am not very happy about that b/c i don't think i have gone six hours without eating in a long time.  I tried doing some research online, but i am having trouble finding numbers.  Does anyone know if 160 is just a little high or is it really high?

Well i got the dreaded phone call today... My levels were high so i have to go back to do the 3 hour test.  The nurse told me that the cut off was 135 and i was at 160.  I don't know much about it, but i am going to do some research to see what i can find out.  So needless to say i am having a pity party for myself today :(

Well I had my test today and passed with flying colours, so I don't know what they're going to blame my baby being big on next, because they can no longer say it's because of my weight and therefore I must be diabetic... they really annoy me!!  I put all my weight on at the beggining and haven't gained anything for a while now, in fact my midwife said I look like I've lost weight in the face!

Well if you think about it your drinking sugar sludge on an empty stomach! I think we all got sick! LOL It is awful. Our babies are hitting massive growth spurts right now, it's normal for us to as well, I hadn't gained any weight until this past month, and trust me it's still coming LOL but my body tells me to eat so I do, baby need food! LOL

i kinda felt sick too b./c it was so gross, so i dont think its anything to worry about. 6 pounds is nothing, I gained 9 between appointments once. I think it just depends on your body and plus you havent gained alot so again you have nothing to worry about!!

I went for my glucose testing on Friday and when i drank the stuff it made me sick to my stomach while i was waiting my hour.  Is this something that I should worry about or not?  My doctor office has the policy of they only call if there is a problem, so if there is a problem i will know this week, but i am just kind of panicked right now waiting.  I haven't gained a lot of weight (8 lbs total), but 6 of that was in the past couple weeks.  I really on't know a lot about GD, so any thoughts would be welcome!!!!

last i knew i have gained abotu 20lbs maybe a lil more, maybe a lil less...not quite sure as since i cant TRY to lose weight right now, i dont weigh myself regularly anymore. i will start with the diet again after this lil girl gets here.
i feel like a whale though, and although i am happy, there are times i feel embarrassed to run around with my 3 kids and having a preggo belly for #4. people are so rude sometimes

got my test results today at the doctors, my glucose test wa s fine and i go to the hospital on tuesday for my RH shot. I am measuring normal and my wieght gain is fine.......although I feel like its a bit high! up 26 pounds! BLAH

i am right with you tarrah....i thought they were gonna do the 1hr glucose this past wednesday...but they upped it til my next appt. March 11th.  but i did get my in office u/s and found out i am having a girl.... i am 24 weeks today. boy with spending the time with all of the wonderful ladies on here...the time is sure flying.

Try the diet and see, but don't stress too much, like others have said, it's rare to pass the first test.  Good luck to you and relax if you can!

Dont worry yet! worrying yourself wont get you anyway anyways! my sil had the test twice and the 2nd time it was all normal!!  I think dr just like to take that extra precaution which is a good thing. Hope you are feeling well!!

Sorry to hear that you have to deal with this...But like Mandy said don't worry yet!!  Hopefully the change in diet will help and when you go back in couple weeks everything will be back to normal.  I'll keep you in my thoughts and be sure to keep us updated!!

I wouldn't worry yet tarrah!  My husband has diabetes and I test myslef sometimes after I've eaten with his blood sugar monitor and my result are always high but then two hours later they are low, so it is fairly common to have high results with that first test and then be fine with the other one... not that long to go now and we can put all these worries behind us and have our little babies!!  (Please God)
