Just diagnosed with GD

I just found out I have GD but haven't seen the nutritionist/ counselor yet. I have a few questions for her and my doc, but I was curious if any of you ladies have GD now or have had it in a previous pregnancy?

The biggest worries I have right now:
1.  Will the baby be ok?
2.   I have a scheduled c-section (for other medical reasons) on May 3rd (39+3). Am I going to last that long? I really really want my little man to stay in as long as possible (and healthy).

Any tips, personal experiences, advice, etc. is greatly appreciated! Thanks :).

Thanks! I bought a blood glucose test machine today andI have a class next Thursday. I'm already34+2. I hope its not too late to turn around:).

I'm also feeling a little positive about the diagnosis because I think maybe the diet will help me lose the baby weight if I continue past delivery. I've only gained 17, but I was 160 when I got pregnant.
