Medi-cal question

So I stopped working 2 weeks ago. I'm single, obviously unemployed, and 10 weeks pregnant.I live in California and haven't applied for medical (aka Medicare). But I'm super scared because  I know they ask for all bank accounts. I have my school financial aid account which I have 0 money on, and then I have my wells Fargo checking account which I do have a big chunk there. Mostly savings, over 2,000. My friend is advising me to just not report that account because they will deny me, even though I'm unemployed. I feel super uncomfortable doing that...What should I do?

Lol I didn't stop working on purpose, it's a contract job. And I don't know when there will be another contract. Luckily my boyfriend has a job.

Why would you stop working at 10 weeks pregnant, with no source of income? If it was the type of job you were doing perhaps you can get a another job that you can do while you are pregnant. How will you support yourself and your child?

Do you qualify for unemployment? Every legal employee is CA is entitled to it and the amount varies, depending on how much you've earned in the past

If you apply for cash aid/SNAP it'd a differnt story. The savings limit is $2000, and I can't remember what the assets eligibility limit is. Please go apply for medical for the health of your baby!

You should apply. All pregnant women have a right to medical attention. You can go to nearly any prenatal clinic, explain your situation and they will apply for presumptive eligibility. It's good for 30 days to receive medical care in CA. Then you do need to officially apply for medical, but guaranteed with your financial position you will qualify. Again, medical aid is based on current income, not savings or assets. Thank you affordable health care act

You have to report all of your accounts. They will find them if you don't. Some states allow you to have a little money in saving. Go online to their website a look at the guidelines.
