colostrum in syringes prior to birth

In passing yesterday the midwife mentioned I could hand express my colostrum for bubs just in case anything goes astray as its already in. She mentioned freezing it in syringes. Just wanted to know if anyone else has done this and has any advice about how to do it and freeze it correctly etc?

Yes the midwife did say to absolutely not use a pump, manual or electric cos I would put myself in labour.
I will check with the head midwife next week, I was just wondering if anyone had been told the same

Hand expressing and pumping are not the same thing. But this is interesting. Not something I had thought about!
