I would say I wouldn't buy until the 2nd trimester at least but it is your pregnancy I bought a lot with my first and lost her at 22 weeks. Then after had two full term babies. Anything can happen at any time but don't live in fear! It's not worth worrying.

I am currently 9 wks....I had a stroller, car seat, crib, playpen, high chair, play mat, breast pump, and baby monitor all before I even got pregnant because I knew I'd be trying soon. Granted most of it was given to me for free but I don't feel that it was unlucky at all. As a matter of fact it was extremely lucky that I got it all for almost nothing. And I bought diapers at 6 weeks cuz I got a really good deal. Do what you want. Unless you're high risk then it could just be depressing in the worst of circumstances.

I would never say not to buy anything that it's bad luck. First I don't believe in luck and secondly it's your baby. I would wait till I was past 1st trimester because if anything is gonna happen (mc) it's gonna be before 12 weeks. But if your past that then go ahead. Me personally I want to wait till I find out the babies gender at 14 weeks then I will probably buy little stuff here and there as I already have 2 other boys who constantly are growing and needing stuff but it's your baby so go on ahead and buy all you want!

Wow after reading some of these posts very pessimistic.  I bought a baby stroller prior to even getting pregnant with my first.  It was motivation for me.  This is an ancient pagan wives tale.  Here is a question... what if you make it all the way and baby doesn't make it thru birth.  Happened to my husband's grandparents.  They didn't buy anything until close to birth for their baby.  Point is don't live in fear and enjoy your pregnancy,please.:-)

I havent bought anything with this one yet, im 10 weeks. With my son, my husband and i each bought a neutral blanket and we found one gender neutral sleeper we bought before we knew the sex. We didnt want to get ahead of ourselves and something happen....if we wouldve had a bunch of baby stuff it wouldve made it more devastating than it would bbe already. Thankfully nothing did happen and  we were blessed with a.handsome baby boy! Good luck to you, i say if you want to buy some things, go ahead! But keep all possibilities in mind..

I'm not buying any clothes because I don't know what I'm having. My mom only just told me to make a baby registry and it can't be complete without knowing boy or girl so I'm feeling very impatient! It's not bad luck, in my opinion, but don't go crazy buying things either. A baby shower helps get you on the right track. Have that if you can, then get the stuff you didn't get. Good luck. :)

Once I hit the second trimester, that's when I'm going to start buying diapers. I did the same with my other 2. I wouldn't buy anything while still in the first trimester.

Depends on how far along you are... because things happen it's not that smart to start buying things in your first trimester. Honestly I won't start buying anything until I'm at least 30 weeks.
