The uterus presses on the Vena cava. It not only decreases circulation to the baby but you as well. If I remember correctly, your not suppose to sleep on your back after 20 weeks. Sleep in the position that is most comfortable for you.
I have the same problem as well...wen I lay on my back it's uncomfortable & I start to feel sick & like stuff is moving in my belly...I can only sleep on my left side & I think that's the best side to sleep on...u can put pillows to the back of u...dat also helps..
I believe It's not until the baby is bigger and puts pressure on your nerves, also lying on your left size allows better blood flow to baby.
Doea anyone know what the week is that they recommend not sleeping on your back.... I try and sleep mostly on my side but I can only get comfortable on my back.
I feel sick on my back as well.
When I sleep on my back I only get lower back pains but when I sleep on my side I feel sick
