I've been having this too... shooting pain in my lower back and down my legs. But what's worse for me is the pain in the front of the pelvis, hurts to walk especially when getting out of bed. I'm pretty fed up with the whole thing! I'm thinking of going to the chirp too.
I've been going to the chiropractor for this same issues. He explained that in pregnancy, a hormone called relaxin is released to make the joint move more fluidly in preparation for birth. However, sometimes the bones and joints move too much and create pain, especially in the pelvis or hips.
He suggested going several times per week to realign the hip and pelvis, but that's too expensive for me. Some other suggestions are ice (it sounds awful but it works; ice on bones, warm on muscles), rotating positions (from sitting, standing, Indian style, leaning, etc) often, and stretching both legs and back with minimal stretches 2-3 timea per day.
Be sure to take it easy too.. Too much walking or jogging can increase pain. Give it a shot, hope it helps!
Oh ok thank you all for the advice! I will try stretching out and more pillow support to see if that helps.
It is normal, especially if your uterus is tilted back and resting on your training
Have you tried putting some warm bean bag on the affected area. Do you sleep with a pillow supporting your back/legs/belly? Have you tried giving it a gentle rub/massage to get the blood flow going? Also ensure you are well topped up with calcium as we seem to need it more now. I think it is normal to have these aches, pains and sudden sharp cramps, just as long as they are not persistent or lead to high fevers. I also find I'm getting these aches often but they don't stay for too long but they do switch around (like one day it will be my knee and I can't bear weight on it or the next day it is my lower back on the left) but gentle movements and rest seem to help these along.
I have lower back pain as well. Sometimes it comes out of nowhere and sometimes it's because of how I lay. It gets really bad at night. I've tried Tylenol but it didn't help. I have started stretching though and that seems to work. I'll stretch until it starts to relieve the pain or sit in the downward dog yoga position. It helps when my boyfriend is too tired to just give me a massage :)
Oh man. Yea it hurts really bad and idk what to do about it
