placenta previa

Hi

I am due in November and I have been detected with partial placenta previa (low lying placenta) . I am really scared. Has anyone else been detected with that? What do your doctors say?

What you read about the risk of bleeding is typically caused by labor and the dilating cervix which pulls the placenta since it is covering the cervix. This is the reason that c-s are done, to reduce the risk of bleeding by preventing you from going into labor. There is a lot of scary info out there, try not to get overwhelmed. Most placenta previa ends in successful births, try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy :)

I am 19 weeks pregnant and had a scan a couple of days back. Unfortunately, my placenta hasn't moved up. I have also read that I can bleed myself and my baby to death if my placenta starts detaching itself from uterus wall....I am really worried about my baby :(

At a 12 week scan i was told i had a low placenta.. my dr told me it is very common in early pregnancy and not to worry and that it would most likely move to the right place.. at my 16 week scan it did! if it didnt move my dr told me id probably have to have a csection delivery, which didnt bother me much. dont worry you and baby will be okay. congrats!
