I went into the hospital at 39 weeks 5 days. The doctor wanted to do it right away BC my baby was huge. I went in at 4 pm and started cervidil (cervix thinner) because my cervix hadn't thinned out. At 4 am the next day,  my doctor started the potocin. By 12 pm, I had only dialted to 1.5 so the doctor broke my water. I had contractions right away but I don't handle pain well so I was given an epidural. By 5, I had only dialated to 3. By 5:30, I was in a room for a csection BC the baby got stuck at the beginning of the birth canal BC she turned wrong. The doctors didn't know this though until they pulled her out. She had a dent in her head. Completely normal and I was able to massage it into shape by the next day. My sister went through the same thing at 41 weeks. It was unbelievable how similar our deliveries were. Part of me wishes I would have went longer to have a better chance of a natural birth but I also wonder if there is something wrong with my body that caused her to get stuck and would have went through that either way anyways.

I was induced twice, and I'm hoping to avoid it this time around. It wasn't bad, but it was intense for me. Both times I had the cervidil tablet inserted because I wasn't ripe enough, but I was over a week past my due date. First time, my doctor was very slow with the pit, second time a different doc was very aggressive. It took me forever to dilate, so labor was around 24 hrs post cervidil.  My sil was induced and she breezed through it no problem. Overall, it's not a bad experience. Talk to your doctor before and during the induction. Keeping an open dialog really helped me get a good hospital experience.
