So every doctor says something different. One told me.to take 3mg cuz I had a miscarriage and my OB said only take 1mg and if I really wanted to I can take 2mg. Does folic acid help prevent miscarriage?

Take prenatal vitamin and additional 400 mcg of the folic acid. You can buy these at any retail stores. If u had reboots mc- is best to ask your dr for progesterone but usually is good to take this before conception until your 20 weeks preg - this will help prevent mc

My doctor told me today to take 1000mcg. My prenatal otc had 800mcg so she said to take an extra 400mcg since 200 mcg is hard to find. The extra will come out in urine. I've had 2 previous miscarriages. This is my 5th pregnancy.

Yes 0.4mg is equal to 400mcg.
For some reason mine told me to take 3000mcg but I'm only taking 2000mcg.
I heard any excess will just be peed out. I heard that 400mcg -1000mcg is the norm.
