Depending on how low your progesterone levels are depends on the what the prescription should be I am on 200mg 2x a day.  Progesterone is what helps the embryo grow. I was placed on it at 4.5 weeks when I started spotting and ductile received my blood tests back showing my progesterone was extremely low I obviously don't know if I wouldn't have taken it if my baby still would be ok but I do know that I have taken it and have not had any spotting since and will be 12 weeks on Wednesday and my 8 week ultrasound looked wonderful with the baby having an extremely string heart beat.

Progesterone is supposed to help prevent from miscarriages.  This med is given to people that is fear of m/c.  Some body don't produce progesterone and drs often don't have a tool to check whether the body is producing on its own or not.  Progesterone is normally given to be taken until up to 10 weeks of prenant because the placenta doesn't takes place until 10 weeks later.  Once there's placenta then that means for sure your body will produce progesterone until birth.

I'm the lady at 10 weeks with no hcg. Nice to meet you. You aren't crazy and you are pregnant. you know your body. Feel free to message me. I paid for an ultrasound at an imaging boutique because my doctor doesn't believe me. She wrote me a prescription yesterday and didn't tell me what it was. It was progesterone that can cause miscarriages. Obviously not taking it. My breasts have gone up 2 sizes. I've gained about 5 pounds. My uterus is bulging. My cervix is high, soft, and closed. I suggest you order a doppler online. Fetaldoppler.net is where I got mine for 39$.

When I was pregnant with my son I never had a positive test with him. Even at the drs office. They always had to go blood tests with me
