So new moms......How is it going???

As for me things are quite going well.  Much easier 2nd go round.  This transition has been easy with 2 kids.  Breastfeeding going well except it is still very painful.  Hubby has been a great help too!!  This community has been slow so I was just wandering how everyone is doing.  I am sure everyone is busy with the new little one.  I have posted some new pics of Mollie, and a few of big brother Britton too.  Hugs to all!!

UGH!  Sounds like she thinks evening and early nighttime are actually day--time to play!  It's so hard to get them to unflip their days and nights.  I know it's so hard to keep her awake, but I would encourage you to keep trying to get her feedings and wake times in during the day.  If she's sleeping over 3-4 hours anytime during the day, she'll rob you of those hours at night.  At least she's not fussy--that's great!  Mommy's probably zonked, though!

We are using Similac right now, but have used Enfamil witht he other kdis.  No reason for the change--just the samples we started with this time.

Hi,

We are doing pretty good here.  Sarah sleeps most of the early part of the day away. She is up untill 2:00-2:30 in the morning than she will sleep for  4-6 hrs wake up eat and then go back to sleep for another 3-4 hrs.
We try to keep her awake but she has a mind of her own!!!  At least when she is awake she isnt that fussy (which is a plus)!

She is eating 3-4oz every 3-4 hrs.

What type of formula do you guys have the babies on??

Elijah is getting stronger and bigger every day it seems!  I have a blog at www.beckythorn.spaces.live.com where I've written all about the "new normal" of life with a newborn.

I'm sorry to hear about breastfeeding woes.  It has caused me nothing but physical and emotional pain with all three kids, so I can really, really, really relate.

I do wish there was more info out there on bottle feeding, though.  I'm never sure if I'm giving him the right amount at the right intervals.  Right now, at 5 weeks, he's taking about 5 oz. every 2-3 hours during the day and 4-6 hours at night (though sometimes even then it's still only 3 hours!). Does that sound right?

When is it safe to start letting him go longer than 5-6 hours between feedings at night?  (Not that this is a common delimna, but just in case!):)

Things are going well so far ... I just love spending time with Ewan. He's a great baby on the whole very content during the day but sometimes gets a bit grouchy at night and so we've had a few sleepless nights. Ewan is gaining weight really well, he gained nearly a pound in a week! Finding breastfeeding quite tough though ... it's painful but getting better.

I hope all other mommies are doing well :)

i am sleep deprived!! lol i have been doing it alone, Jadyn's dad decided a baby was hard work.. lol.  He has his days and nights kind of mixed up I think.  He sleeps alot during the day and seems really gassy and crabby at night.. I think he hates his bassinette cuz if im holding him he doesn't cry but when i put him in there he wakes up all the time and just cries until i take him out.  He was 6 pound 6 1/2 oz at his last appt and is now about 7 pounds so he has been gaining lots of weight, but its around his growth spurt time.  He is all in all a really good baby, he already smiles alot and likes to hold his head up and look all around, he is very observant and content.. im enjoying him even though its tough sometimes.

things are going okay..Aiden went for his one month and he weighs 10lbs 10ozs which the doctors said is good since he was 9lbs 2ozs at birth...i stopped pumping because i wasn't getting much milk anymore so now its just formula..Aiden does get at times constiapated and goes hard poo's but than goes soft..so we are going to keep a eye on that and see if it keeps happening or not...he eats 4ozs now every 3-4 hours.
