Back Issues

Hey girls Ive been having the worse back pain ive ever had in my life. I have a history of back pain since the age of 14. ive been in 2 pretty bad car accidents and a while back they did xrays and says i may have early signs of degenerative back (my dad has it, its hereditary) I have a buldging disc since 14 yrs old. My back started hurting on thursday. I know it has nothing to do with miscarriage, bc ive had this pain before..my huband has been massaging it..i have huge knots of tissue and tension through my whole back..mostly my lower back on the left side. i think i might have a pinched nerve..last time i had this happened i bent over wrong in the shower and couldnt get back up i ended up having to do phys therapy and this was 2 yrs ago. so its really easy for me to get flare ups. Im wondering with that awful cold i had with the non stop coughing and sneezing made me pull something. I talked to the nurse today and she is going to talk to the doc to see what i can do or take. ive been getting massages (from the hubby) doing heat and ice sleeping in the most comfortable positions and taking tylenol but the pain is not letting up. i hope there is something i can do she says there may be nothing i can do. Did anyones back pain start this early (im going on 8 weeks) Im just so miserable. Thank God im not working right now bc i cant sit walk stand cough bend over or lay down with out this constant pain. I just wanna cry. sorry im just kinda venting. i just dont know what to do

I'm so sorry you feel so bad. I don't know what that's like but I do have some back problems once in a while(I have scoliosis). It cracks all the time and when I'm worried about something my neck gets stiff and end up in the ER. I would suggest some hot showers and let the water run down your back. That helps me a little. I wish I could tell you what else to do with this but I never had that much pain as you described. I will however keep you in my prayers tonight for the pain to go away. Sweet dreams. Let me know how you feel in the morning.

I see a massage therapist for back issues (and shoulder issues) is that something you could go and do?

hey girls...so my back pain hasnt gotten any better. i talk to the dr and nurse and they wrote me a script for lortab which they said is completely safe to take while preggo..well it isnt working and its starting to really get to me...it sometimes takes my breath away. so i talked to the nurse and i have to go in on monday to talk to the doctor. i asked if they were worried about the baby and they said no bc no cramps or bleeding and i have a history of back pain with a buldging disc. they are worried about me right now. i know if i let it stress me out too much it will stress out the baby so im taking it easy just laying down all day..its just starting to drive me crazy! sorry just venting!

Sorry you are not feeling well. Y ou are right, if you start stressing you will strss your baby as well. Hope they'll be able to do something to ease the pain when you go on Mon. Meanwhile, just take it easy. You will be in my prayers. Take care.
