CHICKEN POX!

Ok so my doctor just called to give me the results of my bloodwork that I took one month ago. She said I tested postive for CHICKEN POX!?! What the....!!!!  I had the chicken pox when I was younger and honestly I feel fine right now. I couldn't believe it when she told me and she said it could be devestating to my baby. I am freaking out!! She asked if I've had flu like symptoms or spots. No I haven't. She said I need to speak to a specialist right away and she was going to fax me a prescription. The fax was cut off and now her office is closed even though I spoke to her literally 5 minutes ago. I don't no what to do. I am so upset.

Well I hope it was false! That is just so weird. Maybe it is standard to check for it in her practice or in your state.

Thanks Joy for responding so quickly. I called the anwering service and told them I need to speak to my doctor and its an emergeny. My doctor called me right back. She told me she is 99.9% sure that this is a false postive for chicken pox b/c she has seen this numerous times before ( wonderful.. so I get to worry all weekend and it probably is wrong). I am thankful that she is taking precautions just in case though. I am going to retake the bloodwork tomorrow morning and hope for the best. I will keep you guys posted. Oh! she also found a small infection in my urine so I have to go on medication. Wonderful!!

They close pretty early! Is there an on-call doctor you could speak with? I know that if you stay on the line there is usually a prompt that lets you talk to an operator and they can connect you with your doctor or another one in the practice.

That is definitely strange that you have chicken pox. I didn't know they even tested for that but then again I don't know what they test for at all besides HPV, HIV and other STDs.
