How are the babies doing?

Hi Everyone,

How are our little babies doing? My little girl turned 5 months over the weekend and I swear I cant believe it. I was just telling my husband that in a few months she'll have teeth and probably be crawling and walking. Time to get gates for the steps now. Time is moving FAST!

Well my little guy is growing like a bad weed! He weighs in at a whopping 19lbs 3ozs! I haven't measured him to see how long he is, but he's pretty good sized! He can almost roll over, but he gets excited and rolls back over giggling. He has found his feet and loves to play with his feet. haha sometimes his hands too- but the feet taste better! He is also doing that thing that babies do, where they lift their legs up and bang them down haha it always cracks me up! As for clothing, which I crack up about, he's wearing 12 month old clothes. He's not a baby anymore I swear he's a shrunken toddler! I am still feeding him breast milk with occasional formula. He is eating 6-8 ounces every like 4-5 hours now and sleeping from about 730 to 8am or so and has a few naps during the day.

We just started solids so our girl hasn't eaten that much yet.  She's still getting used to it all.  Our son was (and still is) a garbage disposal, he loved eating and ate 3 meals a day by 5 months.

In terms of Juice, we refuse to give he juice until she's 1.  She doesn't need all that extra sugar and in general it's not all that healthy for them.  We have given her water a few times though.  All the dr's we've seen for both our kids have told us that we shouldn't give much juice and try giving water instead to help install healthy habits.  I guess if kids drink too much juice when there younger there more likely to drink pop and juice instead of water.  Our son will be 3 on May 1st and he's only had juice about 15 times total, he prefers water or milk.

Brady just turned 4 months and has been on only cereal for a week.
I'm planning on just giving cereal for this first month or so and I give it to him once in the morning and once around dinner time but not too late because he goes to bed at 7ish.
My plan is in a couple weeks to start giving him cereal at breakfast, lunch and dinner then when he starts other foods to just switch one of those feeds to some type of veggie or fruit. Then move on from there and eventually just probably get the cereal right out of his diet since it's not as nutritional as the fruits and veggies.
I plan on making his baby food and I don't plan on giving him juice at all until way later on (unless we come across constipation issues). It's quite hard on their teeth I guess.

Briana is def. growing. She has been eating all those green veggies, carrots, sweet potatoes, apples and bananas. She really loves eating and eats a lot. By the way, how many times per day do you give your babies baby food? Everytime she sees me eating or drinking she just looks at me with her mouth open so sometimes I let her have a taste.
I have also been giving her juice, but it seems that grape juice has been giving her a rash so I stopped that and sticking to apple juice, which she loves. I took her to the doctor and she actually got yeast so poor baby, I have to keep her diaper free as long as possible. She is weighing 17.11 lbs. Lately I feel as if I have not been producing enough milk for her so I have been having to give her formula.

Yes, I can't believe it!  Our little girl is acting like she's trying to crawl (although when they start that it can still be a few months from what I remember).  And she's been acting like she's teething over the past month (our son did that too, had all the signs of teething but took  3 months or so to get his first tooth).

I haven't been around much lately (at home) due to work, school, business trip, etc.  Now it seems that when ever I'm home she has to see me or she gets upset!  Often times I need to be holding her or playing with her.  It makes getting homework done very challenging.  We haven't weighed her yet but she is defiantly growing!

She's started to hold onto things better now (like teethers) so that's been nice.  She's also trying so hard to hold the bottle herself!

We already have gate(s) up because of her older brother, but he can open all of the gates if he wanted to (one of them that's hand made he's opened before but 99% of the time he just won't bother with it).

It's been great watching the two of them play, our son just loves that he's got a new playmate, although sometimes he's still getting upset that she's around.

We've also started spoon feeding her some sweet patatos.  She's taken a few bites but still trying to figure it all out.  It's pretty cute!

Brady is doing great....he just turned 4 months last week. He's a little behind then everyone else since he was born at the end of the month. We've had a very difficult month....he almost had turned colicky and I was really starting to get anxious and tired of the whole thing. I've gone a whole week this past week without dairy and there's been a noticeable difference in the amount of gas in him. He's been much happier....I love dairy so it's a little on the difficult side but so worth it in order to have a happy baby.
I know what you mean about teeth. He's been putting anything and everything in his mouth and I'm not sure how long it'll take them to come in but I think he'll look so cute.
I've been feeding him cereal the last week too. He LOVES it. I was going to hold off on anything until he was 6 months but I was desperate to figure out a way to get rid of his colic and I think it's helped him as well. I didn't know whether it would be worse or better seeming how it can be constipating for some children. He actually has more poopy diapers this way so it's good. I can add probiotic to it easily too.
He's 17lbs...he hasn't gained too much weight but has grown longer that's for sure! He's rolling and LOVES bouncing in the jolly jumper.. it makes me laugh every time he's in it! I could watch him for hours in that thing! haha
