I haven't tried the rice cereal as yet. I'm trying to wait until after she turn 3 months at least. :]
My 11 week old son does the gagging thing off and on all the time. Right now it's really bad because I think he's getting a cold. I just make sure to suction the mucus out of his nose and mouth in the morning and a couple of times through the day; it really helps.
And the rice cereal does help with the reflux just take it real slow.
Aw that's great news! My daughter has her 2 mnth appt tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to those shots.
Awesome news! She's doing well! My little guy is already 13lbs and I think a couple weeks younger than your girlie!!
So we went for my daughter 2 mth check up today and I mentioned the gagging. She asked questions about it like how often does she do it and if she vomits everytime she gags.. She doesn't vomit everytime so said it was reflux and it will get better with age. She said they can give babies Zantac for it but it won't cure it will only help settle their tummy a little better. She also said we could mix a little bit of baby cereal in a 4 oz bottle cause the baby cereal helps keep the milk down and settle better but it will also cause weight gain..
So we'll see.. might try the baby cereal..
Baby girl is weighed at 13lbs :]] But she had 4 shots :[[
The dr asked if she can hold her head up and we said yes.. So she put her on her tummy and my daughter lifted her head so high and her chest lifted up as well.. Perfect! The dr couldn't believe it and said she is holding it up like a 4 mth old :]
Hi ladies...My daughter did this when she was 8 days old and it was actually mucus. It scared me so bad I called 911. She was gagging and then started crying and off and on. Then of course by the time the ambulance arrived she was fine. The ambulance took forever to get there but after about a few minutes of her gagging and crying all the mucus was coming out. I ended up taking her to the drs that morning to get checked out b/c the paramedics didnt see a problem and the dr bascially said it was the mucus and I needed to suction her nose.
I googled it too and that's what it said. Brady has a few signs of reflux but I don't think he has it a lot. He gets lots of hiccups and does that gag thing every once in a while. He doesn't spit up much.
Let me know what your doc says...it'd be interesting to see.
Yeah sometimes its when she doesnt want the binky we figured.. But other times it could be for no reason at all she will do it.. She will just be lying there and she'll do it..
We were thinking it was reflux also.. since we googled it and thats what it said it might be but I don't want to just count on something I'm reading online.
I hope it's normal also. She has a dr appt monday so I will mention it to the doctor.
Yup, my daughter does that too. She mostly does it with the pacifier or when she doesn't want any more boob. When she was coming up with a cold she was gagging a lot and it was also out of nowhere. She doesn't do it anymore unless she doesn't want the pacifier or boob.
OMG...I hope it's normal cuz Brady does it too! He did it just the other day in his swing and I had him out in a flash! I've been wondering if it's reflux!
