Is it normal to be dizzy?

I have been feeling really dizzy lately when ever I am up and moving aroung without something to drink for a hour or two and when i lay down and sit up. Is this normal? It may be a dump question but it sortta worries me. I will be 18 weeks pregnant Tuesday the 4th of May. Due for an ultrasound so we can make sure everything is ok with the baby. Just need some advice b/c I dont want to wait till Tuesday to talk to my OB.

I have that problem too; it was actually my only pregnancy symptom until morning sickness kicked in at 6 weeks. I started getting it worse once I hit the second trimester. For me, it seems to happen when I have an empty stomach though.

It's defiantly normal!  I get it ALL the time when I'm pregnant, and all 3 dr's I've had said it's normal and that most women experience it.  It has something to do with sharing your blood with the baby (even though you have more when your pregnant) and when you don't drink enough it makes it worse.

If it bothers you, you should be able to call the nurses line and talk to your OB's nurse (or even leave a message for him/her to get back to you).

I get dizzy fairly often too so I really hope its normal! But most things I read say that it is fairly common, so when it happens I just chalk it up to being pregnant. However let me know what your doctor says when you ask because my next appointment isn't for over a week!

I have pregnancy anemia and I get lightheaded and dizzy ALL the time. I was walking through work the other day and out of no where everything started getting dark and I almost fell over. When you are feeling dizzy the best thing to do is sit down, drink some water (nothing caffinated because it will dehydrate you more) and relax for a couple seconds.

So normal! Like LandM said could be blood pressure related. Most pregnant women have sinus problems too and that can add to it. Just take it slow when you stand up give your self a few seconds to get adjusted before you start walking around. Congrats

Everything I have read says its normal. As the baby requires more blood supply our blood pressure may go down which will make you lightheaded and dizzy when you stand up. Also dizziness can be caused by dehydration, could be blood sugar related or could be anemia. Doesn't hurt to ask your Dr. Hope that helps.
