I am probably going to be induced. I have family coming in and my husband travels with his job, so we want him to arrive when everyone is here. I am hoping for a section myself, but I don't know if I will have one until it gets closer to time.
All I know so far is that I will def. be induced if I don't get a section.
A lot of this has to do with having gestational diabetes, which tends to make babies larger. I have my next ultrasound next week and we have more definite answers on how he will arrive then.
I believe natural birth is always best, but not everyone wants it that way, and it's not my place to judge or tell anyone else what's the safest or best way to have their baby. I think it's the mother's choice!
Yea I understand the recover is easier after a natural birth but there are other variations on why I probably will get a c-section. I'll probably just do a wait and see.
I had to be induced with my first son 3 years ago as well due to pre-eclampsia, if they wouldn't have induced me I definitely think that he would have came after his due date since they induced me 5 days before his due date and he arrived the following day which was only 4 days from his due date and I was only dilated to 2cm for a whole entire month with him =0) With this one I have no idea what’s going to happen, I've been having weekly appt's ever since I hit 28 weeks due to my previous pre-eclampsia but as of right now all is looking well =0) I got my labs done again on Tue to check for pre-eclampsia so I'm hoping that they come back normal, my Dr told me that I will most likely develop pre-eclampsia again since I already had it, so I will probably be induced, but that's ok with me, just as long as I don't end up having a c-section =0)
Ready_4_Baby_2 - I agree avoid a c-section if you can. The recovery time is much higher then if you had one naturally (with or with out pain meds). Also, the most amazing part of giving birth was when they laid the baby on my chest while they cleaned our son up, you can't have that done with a c-section because they need to stitch you up.
I hope that I'll go into labor naturally this time. I had my membranes stripped at 42 weeks with my son and that put me into labor, later they broke my water to speed up labor. Both are things I hope to avoid, however I would take that over other forms of inducing. I really want to go with no pain meds this time so I'm just hoping to go a little more natural then last time (I had the IV meds that made me SUPER loopy/sleepy, either way I'll never get an epidural).
PLEASE DON'T schedule a c-section!!!! If the option to go naturally is there I urge every woman to do it for her baby's sake.... c-sections are neither safe nor healthy for moms or babies! GAH. I have to fight to have a baby naturally after a c-section and it really bums me out!
I don't want to be induced at all! Naturally is how I want to do it.....he'll come when he's ready I think .
Im still wondering if I want to schedule a c-section. I have no idea.
I want to go into labor naturally. My last pregnancy my water broke and they had to induce me and I was so upset because I feel that babies should come when they are ready. I also read somewhere that when your baby is fully mature in there a chemical is naturally released in your body to send you into labor.
Exactly I was induced with my daughter and I want my baby and body to go into labor naturally...
Absolutely no induction for me! I'm on my babies time this time around. When he's ready he will come! (=
