With my son I had small meals and snacked all day. I was eating mostly healthy foods. I gained 26 lbs my whole pregnancy.I watched my weight closely making sure it was in the healthy weight range each month not loosing but gaining steadily.  First trimester weight gain is most likely water weight. :0)

With my first pregnancy I gained 75lbs!!!  I was 20lbs away from being back to my prepregnancy weight and now am expecting baby #2!!!  I am determined not to gain that much again!!!  So I have been eating a lot healthier than before but I do still find myself making some mistakes.  I eat a salad almost everyday for lunch.  I am only a little over 5 weeks and so far did not gain but a few ounces.  Good luck to you and congratulations.

in week 9 you might gain 5 lb of fluids due to retention of water in your body

In my first pregnancy I put four stone (56 pounds) on. I was constantly hungry ! This is now my second pregnancy and I'm eating a lot healthier and trying to avoid junk food and so far is working. I'm actually eating more as well. The problem I had with my first pregnancy was I had gone off all fruit and vegetables and wanted junk all the time so it was my fault for putting so much weight on, luckily I lost it all after the birth. I'm trying so hard to not put the same amount of weight on this time.
