Back from 8 week appt

Well after a very long two hour appointment I finally made it home! I got to see the baby. It was jumping around and hard to get a clear picture, but she pointed out the head, body, and arm buds. It was way cool. The heart rate went up from 120 last time to 170 today. I talked to my ob and she said with my shorter cervix and history of preterm labor I will most likley go in August, but I'm staying put in the September forum. They did another pap and I wasn't expecting that because I just had one a few months ago. It was for the best because they found out I have a bacterial infection. I was so embarassed. I've never had an infection down there before. She said it happens a lot in early pregnancy as your ph changes. She also found out that I sill have a bacterial bladder infection. Something I took antibiotics for a few weeks ago. I'm back on the antibiotics and I hope that everything clears up in the next week.
I'll go back at 12 weeks, 16 weeks, and then from 20 on every two weeks until the end.

I officialy feel pregnant with a baby, not just a potato anymore!

Like everyone is saying an infection is normal. I had a strep infection wheni was preg with my daughter and had a coarse of anti b's and then when i was giving birth i needing to have an iv dose of anti b's also just incase there was still any infection cause it can harm the baby apparently when it slides out your vigina (sorry TMI). My babys heartbeat at 8 w 2 days was also 170 so that must be about normal.
Congrats.

Yea, Nic, the infections in the vaginal/urinary area are very common when pregnant.  In fact, i think at some point they start doing a urine test at each visit to check for that.

I'm glad you got the meds and got to see a healthy itty bitty baby.  My dr. told me that at 8 weeks they convert from embryo's to fetuses.  Exciting!!  Congrats!

Latrice, that's a good idea I might pick some dial up when I get my script.

Thanks guys. I just went pee and freaked out because there was blood, but called the doc and totaly normal after a pap. Just a heads up for anyone who has to get the pap done also.

I can't wait to see everyone's ultrasound pics. It's going to be fun to compare them.

Shawndell, my ob's office has the ultrasound onsite so they do a scan to confirm the pregnancy and due date. You'll most likley get one too. Good luck!

Juana, next thursday right? That's really cool I'm excited for you. I can't believe how much of a difference it makes after you see a real baby on the ultrasound not just a blob.

Thaat is so awsome. Dont feel embarassed, about the infection, it happens to women all the time. I get a yeast infection every year, sometimes it happens after i have taken an Antibiotic, bucz alot of things alter your ph. I have to use antibacterial soap down there or i would get an infection, so im usine dove everywhere else, then switch to the dial, lol its so weird doing that all the time.
