I don't know that I'll have a shower that's why I didn't reply. I've never had one. This is my fifth pregnancy. I started really young, I'm 24...my oldest just turned 8. So when I got pregnant with her it was "acceptable". I did have a friend offer to throw one at one time at my MIL house, however she wanted to make all the rules and wouldn't let me invite who I wanted to invite...so I changed my mind. We'll see...but I'm not counting on it (although I would like one).
I think your cake idea is adorable!
Oh I just had a moment I didn't answer any of your other questions...I've also never been to a baby shower so I don't know what common gifts are. I think that if you come up with something that fits you and is different run with it!
I was looking at other ideas also, i no some women who had a few children or 3 showers sometimes just have a Diaper Party, if nothing else you can have a diaper party, and some non-expensive snacks and just as the invitation says Diaper Party, everyone brings some diapers n wipes, you can never have to many diapers:) Just a suggestion if you dont want to have a Full Shower.
That is such a great idea! Thank you so much! I could certainly use it... I have 2 kidos in diapers now (2, and 13mths). Hopefully my 2 year old will soon be potty trained! :)
yeah I had a shower when I was preg with my daughter so I wouldn't have anotehr one now. I wouldn't feel like it was right. Unfortunately, i got rid of everything baby a long time ago because I got so sick of storeing everything for so long and no second baby. It was like a reminder of my failure or something...SO, now I have to buy EVERYTHING all over again!!
Well stilltrying like i mentioned to amber you could always still have a diaper party, or even a small babyshower with just family.(well at least family is suppose to supportive and they know babies are expensive).
Yeah, I saw that. That is a good idea. I might do that Like you saidm you can never have enough diapers!! This will be the first baby in almost 7 years so everyone in my family is really excited! I'm not too worried. Plus, it's nice because I'm not poor like I was the first time around. When I had my daughter we were so broke, I was barely working and then completly stopped. We lived in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment.
I was just saying that to my dh. We didn't find out what we were having when I was preg with my dd. So he doens't want to find out this time either, but I was like the only reason it didn't matter before was because we had no money to buy stuff ahead of time anyways, and we didn't have a nursely to decorate.
This time, we have the money, we own our own house with a third bedroom we can decorate ahead of time...so I want to know!! (I'm dreading having to give up my office and scrap-booking room though!)
Hi Ladies!
Well ... I've actually had a friend offer to throw one totally unprompted ... She was at our wedding. She's sort of one of those "sort of" friends, if you know what I mean. I don't know. I mean, the people she would probably invite would be people I actually am closer with. But it just seems kind of strange to me. Plus, my sister and sister-in-law are both in the area, and I imagine they'd want to throw it. I don't really know what to do about the situation. I guess I have some time. I mean, if someone wants to throw one and offered totally unprompted to do so ... wouldn't it be rude to refuse??
Oh well, we'll see!
No it would not be rude, and you can just tell her your sister n sister n law was planning you a suprise one but someone told you and your suppose to still b suprised, thats if you dont want to hurt her feelings if you think she would be upset.
