Back from the OB

Well I just got back from my appointment that took forever oh and we stopped for lunch after. Anyhow on the spotting the ob says it's fine just cut the exercise in half and don't push myself so hard. Even with the contractions I've been having my cervix is still 4cm and they gave me other technical details about it, but since I don't understand it I'm not going to try and pass it along. Final diagnosis was, it looks good. The dr never checked it out, but I did have a transvag ultrasound.

Next appointment in 3 weeks is my gluesose screening, ultrasound, and regular ob appt. They did say that my blood pressure is on the higher side. The dr said I'm borderline high not really a problem yet and they'll keep an eye on it. I've never had high blood pressure so I was like WTF does that mean? How do I lower it? I think it's stress related, but I have no idea. My weight is fine I gained 3lbs in the last month. The only other think I found out is that the baby is breech. I'm not worried since she still has plenty of time to flip over.

I'm glad your ok and baby is doing well!. What was your BP? Sometimes just the anxiety over what the clinic is going to say is enough to raise your bp. You're in my thoughts!

130/83 I guess anything 140/90 is pre-eclampsia.

You can help to keep it lower by:
exercising within your doc's recommendation
eating/taking a total of 3500 mg potassium
cutting as much salt as possible from your diet (frozen dinners, canned food, prepared food, etc)
Also try a short 'meditation' while waiting for your doc. Like amberd said going to the OB especially when you are worried (spotting) can cause your bp to rise. I just take a couple minutes to take some deep breaths and calm myself before going into the exam room.

Glad to hear appointment went well...aside from elevated blood pressure.

I say a spa day is needed to bring it down!!
