Cercumcision?!

I know alot of us had boys and I was just wondering when the Pistible(sp)(the ring around the penis) is suspose to fall off... my son was born a week ago on Wednesday(tomorrow/today) and yesterday through today it has been slowly working it's way off.  His penis is really swollen, but it doesn't look infected... and I was wondering if that is normal and when the ring is suspose to fall off, mostly if a week is too early.  And I guess I just want to make sure that I shouldn't call the doc and ask him.  So if someone could please respond quickly I would really appricate it.

I would post a pic of it, but I think that might verg on pornographic and I really don't want or need weirdos looking at my son's penis!!!  It's bad enough that I head on the news of a group of guys going to 6 flags to take pix of little boys in the bathroom and who were salisatating(sp) boys over xbox live!!!  And that freaks me out!!  I mean WTF is wrong with socitiy now adays?

So i found my discharge paper work (it was hanging on the frige, thought I filed but apparently not since I wrote down my doc apt and Owen apt on it) any who and in it, it say that it should fall off within 5-7 days afterward and to just use warm water on it until it heals all the way.  Then soap and water afterward.  Oh and it's called a Plastibell basically it's a plastic ring that was around the head of his penis.  Any who... thanks for the info, but I figured it out on my own, no need to call the doc, everything looks like a normal penis should.

I'm not familiar with that kind of circumcision. My son was just circumcised yesterday and he didn't have the ring put on, I just have to put a gauze on it with A&D every diaper change. I would think somewhere around a week or so it should fall off, maybe a little longer, not sure. (just from what I have heard) I would call the doc and ask them and just be sure to write everything down so you know.

When I got up today to change him the swelling has went down, not alot but the head of the penis is still swollen, but not as red and irritated looking(now it looks more like a penis).  But the ring is still one just one tiny spot so every time i change his diaper it flips up which I think is why he is fussy more now than when I first brought hime home.

Another question, after the ring falls off am I suspose to be putting vasolen(sp) on it to keep it from rubbing on his diaper, I know the doc said something about that, but the doc comes in every morning at like 8am, you know as I'm half awake... So I can't remember.

They didn't put a ring on my son's circ so I don't know the answer to that. I would say if it is really swollen to bring him in to make sure everything is ok.
