Cramping-twist by belly button?

anyone experiencing any twisting cramping - type feeling like on the inside of your belly button? ..
what could it be -hopefully its just part of the baby moving around and her pulling the umbilical cord or something of that sort ...
any suggestions?

I am 17 weeks pregnant and have such a painful stomach all around my belly button. I put it down to constipation but the doctor perscribed me some medicine to help but the pain is still there. Its pretty much the same pain as when appendicitis starts around your belly button (i had mine removed so its definitely not that!) Does anyone else experience a lot of pain like this when pregnant? Its horrible!

well i knew the umbilical cord isnt attached to my belly button of course its attached to the placenta but i was thinking that maybe with the movement of the umbilical cord that even tho its attached to the placenta i would feel the movement .. i guess!! i dont know as long as its nothing to worry about im fine =)

Thanks I never knew that, but I guess now that I think about it, that makes alot of since! Learn something new everyday. LOL!

Ya I get that pain too, on and off... And I just think that it's something streching inside, maybe your belly buttun trying to pop out.  Who knows really.  Also I just want to point out that the umbilical cord isn't attached from your belly button on the inside, it's attached that the placenta.  There for there really would be no corralation between pulling feeling and the umbilical cord, unless he/she was waving it around.

I think its normal too, because I get it sometimes. Mostly at night after laying down for a while. I also think its the baby pulling on the umbilical cord, you have to remember they get bored in there. Sometimes I think my baby is in there drinking redbull by the gallon!

I have had that off and on this pregnancy it is annoying and slightly painful but I think it is common.
