i have been putting cereal in Brandon;s bottles too b/c he was so dang hungry all the time. LOL I put have a scoop the same scoop you use to measure the formula on a 4 oz bottle. He takes it well and is getting full! FINALLY. I'm waiting til he is at least 4 1/2 months for food though. I did give him a gerber spoon of pear and he seem to like it. I think at this point he will eat anything. jejejejej
how much cereal do you guys put in the bottles and how much milk is in the bottle
I put cereal in Bella's morning bottle. It helps her to take a good nap in the mornings. We're waiting until she's 6 months before introducing any other baby foods.
Actually it's funny that you brought this up Latrice, I just started giving Owen some rice cereal in his bottles today, and he took it fine... I haven't started the jar food yet, because every where I've been reading has told me to intruduce new foods slowly into their diets to be sure that they don't have an illergic recation to it and if they do then you'll know why. Any who they say to intruduce the new foods one at a time for approximatly two weeks at a time. Plus it allows their systems to adjust to the new food.
So far today Owen has been alot more concent with himself, his swing, and for that matter anything. Thus I'm pretty sure that everything is working out well. I guess we'll know more in the next few days! Oh he's also got a tought of a cold so he's really sinffly, sneezy, and coughy... but he hasn't had any supper boogy noses!! So I'm happy about that... other than that we are doing fine! I hope everyone's holidays went well and everyone got what they wanted... or what they wanted for their little ones!
Hey Shawndell, her Dr actually told me to hold off until she was 6 months(im like yea right) and 4 months at the earliest. I did put a teaspoon of cereal in her bottle a few times and i have given her some string beans(out the baby jar) she did well and seemed to like it. I will hold off until her 4 month appt and let them no and see what they say.
i wanted to, however when i asked my pedi he said no because she was such a slow starter at gaining the weight he didnt want her to have extra food cause it would mean less bottles, so we are going to wait until she is 6 months, on the upside i weighed her yesterday at 6.02kg so she is getting there
I haven't. My pedi gave me the okay to start at 4 months so I will do that at the end of January. But lately when I'm eating something smooshy I will give my baby some. Ex. Sweet potatoes or mashed potates (from the holiday dinners) And she loves it!
What about you?
