i am deffinatly going to try a bath for my back pain then. lol
I've been taking nice hot warm baths and I did ask my OB about this. She says as long as you don't raise your core body temperature. Unfortunately I don't know how I'd be able to tell. I think it's have to be hot tub hot. I do need my hot baths...this is my R&R sometimes. It feels so good to soak. I've also used bubble bath.
I guess if you're temp doesn't go up above normal you're fine. I do however avoid hot tubs.
i havent really felt like taking a bath this time but with my last two children i did and very often! i actually had the bath fairly hot i never measured temps or anything but didnt let myself get overheated and i wouldnt stay in for hours only about 20 mins
both boys are perfect! and it helped my back!
i say go for it you sound very cautious anyway so just dont let yourself start overheating and sweating , your skin will turn pink when warm nothing to worry about there :)
enjoy your bath xxx
Okay, that definitely makes me feel better! Thanks for responding to this! I don't want to give the baths up!!
I have been taking baths religously, espeically when my back is killing me and I have a killer head ach(thanks for being preggers) with the lights off and a few candles and sometimes my hubby comes in and sits with me and we talk about life and things. It's really nice!!!
Though I have never worried about my body temp prior to getting into the tub/out of the tub. What my doctor said, along with what I have been reading in my pregnancy book is that when you beging to feel your body beging to sweat you should get out. I'm pretty sure that you know the feeling when you feel sweat drip down your head... while you're in a bath. Until that point, which my baths aren't extreamly hot or anything, you are fine.
Also that's the reason that they tell you not to go into hot tubs is because of the constantly warm water cerculating in there, there is never a time where they "cool down." Not a risk of infection or anything like that.
Well I hope this helps a bit!
