Oh I forgot to mention ,,, the progesterone shots must be started between weeks 16-20 of your pregnancy to help prevent preterm labor. They try to wait until at least 16 weeks for the genitals to be fully formed, before starting this protocol to prevent damage to the babies privates.
Well take good care of yourself. I didn't know the progesterone shots helped with preterm labor...that's good o know...At least you're not having to go into the hospital! And definitley anything with twins to keep them in there longer.
And at least it's not everyday and weekly. I think I could handle that. I hear ya with those shots hurting....I've heard that too. fortunatley I've been able to avoid them throughout my efforts and got the suppositories.
Or should I say,,, "It's worth a shot" LOL pun intended.. get it ? hahaha =)
All my previous pregnancies were preemies (32-36 weeks) and with twins, there's an even greater risk of preterm delivery. So this is a preventive measure. Supposedly weekly progesterone injections can help prevent this. But with twins is questionable if it helps or not. Anyway,,, worth a try I guess.
That's a good question Yvette, I had mentioned it (progesterone shots) in a different post but I guess I should have explained it better in this thread also. =) I was just worried about the shot itself hurting (huge needle, but not so bad) And preoccupied thinking about the gender(s)
What injections are you getting training for? I thought you were pretty far along in this pregnancy. I didn't think you were having any problems other than trying to figure out what the babies were going to be?
LOL, that sure would make them feel guilty and take a look.
Tell DH to be gentle with those needles:)
Keep us posted on how things go
oh that's so cool. Let me know if they find out the gender. I hope one is a little princess.
Good luck with the appointment and I hope they try to find the gender for you.
Good luck! Let us how it goes!! Like amberd said...you may just be suprised!!! =)
Good luck, keep us updated. :) I would be bracing myself too...but maybe you'll be surprised...
