Painting...

The house we are moving into needs to be painted...we are going to paint it. For example, Bryce's room has 4 walls, two are BRIGHT red and the other 2 are BRIGHT pink, doesnt quite go with our BOY theme...to get to my point, if i have all the windows open, a large industrial fan going and a mask on, PLUS take lots of breaks where i leave the room, will i be safe to paint? The only reason i will be doing it (and not all of it of course, i will have help) is because i will be out of work, Jason works all day, we get the keys on a monday and we are moving in the following saturday. We obviously want it painted before we move stuff in...the new house and the only house are on the COMPLETE opposite ends of town, literally the first exit into town and the last exit out of town going through vegas so we dont want to be there all night...ok im just rambling now...im so bored...please help =/

i wont be on anything but the flat floor and will be wearing a mask but we are getting the no VOC paint and there will be a big industrial fan blowing with all the windows open. im going to be getting a 4 foot extension pole so that i dont have to bend over, reach high, might even just sit on a chair =)   Jason isnt letting me do ANYTHING else except paint the nursery....he said he will not allow me to do anything so, i have a body guard taking care of everything else, but thank you for your concerns =)  ((HUGS))

Since you have had one premature delivery, that would be concerning to me.  I know that you have had a clerclage with this pregnancy, but you still need to be careful.  Am I sounding like a mother here?

Amberlee, please promise that you will not be climbing any ladders and taking a risk losing your balance?  Can you also buy paint that is low VOC's (I think that's what it's called)  Less toxic fumes if any?  It might be a bit more expensive, but I've heard and seen on the Discovery channel that pregnant women can use that paint without taking precautions, like masks and such.

Just don't overdo and listen to your body, when it says it's tired.  AND NO LIFTING young lady...you hear?  Let hubby do that.  Please?

Please take care......

Yea I have painted also while pregnant. I used the same stuff Juana just mentioned...the fumes were barely there. Lots of breaks, stay well hydrated, and you will be fine!

We just painted and I am doing just great. We used paint from Lowe's, its called Valspar. The fumes were very low. Just keep the area well ventilated!
