Just Venting

Do you ever feel like people ask obnoxious questions about your pregnancy? I'm just overwhelmed lately so I just needed a vent lol. My MIL keeps asking (over and over) why they are taking the baby early. It's been explained to her that even with them pushing my due date back to the 10th (because I'm small) chances are he would be born by then anyway because I usually go 2-3 wks early and I'm orginally due on the 4th. (Induction between Aug 20-27); she's also been told he will be full-term and they are checking his lungs first. They planned an induction because of when I normally go, my heart is still acting up and they don't want me to deliver baby #5 in the car (I live an hour from the hspt). I just get irritated answering the same question over and over.

Also feeling blah about the continuous questions on are we having a baby shower...I've never had one. Nobody's ever offered, I don't really want to throw myself one lol.

Between work (sole provider), and school (final semester taking 22 credits) and missing my kids I'm just bummed today.

Thanks for listening.

hahaha..like ur comment LMC.
its strange when in the office lift people look at your belly, point there and then ask...r u pregnant? i feel like saying...'huh...do u think so...nope...im just as slim as a model..dun i look like one'...silly and obvious questions...
"its just the too much of cheese iv been eating, all accumulated in my protruding tummy!! "

When we told my MIL that I was pregnant she said "I thought you were getting a little thicker around the middle!"  Not exactly the reaction we had hoped for...

As for obnoxious questions, not so much, but definitely odd statements like "Wow you are really coming along."  And always from women!  One woman at my office always looks straight at my belly before looking at my face...almost like she may be envious, but it makes me uncomfortable.

Amber, next time ur mom in law asks u y r u delivering early..just tell her "no im delivering on time, y did u think im delivering early". this will keep her mouth shut.
No need to give extra information to people, if DH also creates a fuss abt anything, dun tell him either.
Comeone if ppl cant understand that the development inside us is not in are control then we have to resort to these things to keep their mouth shut.
Best is to keep away from ur MIL as far as possible. Mine came over in my 4th month and was busy was TV in high vol with my DH while i was puking in the toilet for 2 hours. she didnt even bother to come over n c me nor did my DH. and after few hours she asked me if i was hungry and mentioned that she is quite full with the lunch..! crazy..
i thanks my stars i dont live with her anymore!

I'm sorry Amber :)  Just to let you know you are not alone, I cried almost all day yesterday (Mother's Day)!!  Yuck!!!  I am a bit better today but boy were those hormones raging yesterday!  It was terrible and to top it all off, I have been sick!

Things will get better though....It has to :)  Oh, and at least you can be around you MIL...I can hardly stand to be in the same room with mine.  LOL!

Stacey,

Thank you. Some people are just so rude. I get those comments too. You're right though about just being happy to be pregnant. :)

Hi Amber,

Sorry you are frustrated.  I would be irritated too if I had to keep explaining the same thing over and over!  Plus, I find people don't really understand anything beyond baby and due date.  I had a lot of fun trying to explain what a subchorionic hematoma was to my friends and family!!!  Now, marginal placenta previa!  I've learned to just brush off the questions with "everything is fine" because I don't have the patience anymore.  I think that is what people want to hear anyway.

What has been irritating me is some of the things people say. It's open season to analyze my body!  "Look at your boobs!"  Yes I am pregnant, look at my belly!!!!  Or how about these "Your face is pregnant", "You are definitely wider", and "I noticed this..(pinching my upper arms to indicate they are little pudgy)".  Well I think I look pretty good!  I'm small so things are more noticeable when they change but people could be a little bit more sensitive!!

To be honest, I don't care that much.  I'm just so happy to be pregant but I am shocked at what people will say!! LOL

Take care and hope you feel better.

Hey Amber, sorry your having a bad day.

YOu do have a busy life i see.

As far as the baby shower, here in wisconsin for some reason, most people i no always throw there own parties, showers etc. My sister is turning 30 in june and is throwing her own party, her best friend and me offered to help.  Im throwing my own baby shower and my sister and best friend offered to help.

When DF moved here he was like i never heard of someone throwing there own party, i guess its different everywhere, only party i will throw for someone is my Kids B-Day Parties lol.  So dont feel bad if you throw yourself one, its normal:)  I say do it:)

AS far as the MIL goes, write it out on a piece of paper for her and tell her these are the reasons, so she will always have them with her lol. Or if she keeps asking tell her to ask DH, or do like i do sometimes with people, Say IM NOT SURE WHAT THE DR PLANS ON DOING, GUESS WE WILL SEE LOL.

Hope your day gets better:)
