That's it I'm not shopping anymore!

I got a little carried away today and babies r us. I went in for like three little things that we still needed and ended up with a HUGE cart full! I'm like an addict in that store I just can't stop putting things into the cart.

I'm cutting myself off from shopping for Bella. I am done done done done. We have everything and then some. I shouldn't have to buy diapers or wipes for about 3 months and I got enough milk freezer bags and bottle liners to last a few months also.

Now I just need to put it all away and finish setting up her nursery. Oh I did pick up some nursing bras for myself and a nightgown/robe set for the hospital. I know it's way early, but with my preterm history I think I'll pack my hospital bag this weekend.

I can honestly say aside from putting some things away and a few loads of laundry we are ready for this baby now. Wow!

Ha ha when I had my son 11 years ago I probably spent $300 total on all the baby stuff I needed. That's one drawback to having kids when your more established in life you end up getting more and spending more.

Congratulations on being done! LOL!   We just got our crib mattress tonight from babies R us and ordered our crib and changing table from a different store.  The only thing i have on my list are things I can wait on.   DH and have been arguing about how much things costs.  He's bent out of shape on how much we've spent....oh well we had absolutely nothing!!!     I did wear him down and got the crib and dresser that I wanted, I was suprised he didn't put up too much of a fight.  I think he's going to get his parents to pay for it.

One day we went to babies R us with my list in hand and DH was rushing me because he wanted to play golf and I just got what I needed since he wasn't checking prices and we checked out of there with a $1100 bill.   Ugh!  I was suprised about that myself.   Oh well...I signed up for the rewards card too.   But now the only thing i need is the bottle warmer.

I must say that prices certainly have gone up!  My last baby was 14 years ago and I know we didnt spend as much on that him.  And my first baby was 19+ yrs ago and I was a single mom making about $8 and hr and I have no idea how I managed with that one either.

Big problem for me is that Babies R Us is about 10 minutes from my house!!   Fortunately I live in Phoenix and it's sooo dang hot right now I only leave the house when I have to.   It's a chore to go to the grocery store.  But you are right Babies R Us is bad bad bad!!!

The empire waist dress is my friend right now. It shows off the belly and hides everything else! Good luck finding something.

Juana- your shower sounds like so much fun! So it must be at a hotel. Every time I went to Chicago for work they put me up at the Hyatt right where that river meets the lake. Once they did a fireworks show over the water and it was just beautiful! I love the view from there.

Today my dh took me to pick out a dresser for her room. Now that I have all the clothing out and washed we need somewhere to put it all!

Juana, it took me forever to find something to wear! It was awful. I felt so FAT and never fit me the way i wanted it to look. LOL. I had to go into the plus section of Dress Barn (not sure if you have of them and buy a big size dress. All I need to work on is my jewelry...

Nicole, that's not going to work!! I take a list everytime I go to the store and I get the items on there and then some!!  LOL

I have to pat myself on the back, I have only purchased about four or five outfits for Makayla...But my step-daughter and my aunt have been going crazy!!! I begged them to stop for fear of having no where to put all of her clothes!! I am going to the Premium Outlets this weekend and may hit up Carter's and OshKosh...they always have great bargins!! We are also going to get the bedroom furniture

My family is so excited, they have been waiting on me to have a baby for years and they went throught he whole process  (IVF) with me so they are overjoyed and over spending!! I cannot wait for the shower, its August 1st in downtown Chicago overlooking Lake Michigan...we have the room until midnight and will have an "after party" with swimming, jacuzzzi (which I will avoid) , pool tables and a nice lounge area!! I am so excited! Now I have to find something to wear...

Luckily for me i haven't bought much of anything. Only a few wonzies and socks, hats and that's it. We have been innandated with gifts coming in the mail. I GUESS EVERYONE LOVES ME or maybe they feel sorry for me. Who knows, I'm so excited. I'll see what else I get after the shower and then I'll into Babies R Us to complete my things to get. The one thing I really haven't received is bottles...I guess it's too much of a personal gift....lol

Well I didn't realize just how bad it was until last night I washed all her clothes and linnens. I have a one of those large capacity washers and it took 4 1/2 loads! LOL OH my gosh I was so embarassed when dh got home and saw that our entire king sized bed was covered in baby clothes.

Since the shower I keep picking little things up here and there, but because we haven't put her room together yet it's all been stored in bags or boxes. Now that it's all laid out in front of my face.... I may have over done it a bit. I'll post a pic and show you guys what I did. Your going to laugh!

I understand how you feel Nicmom, im a shopper to, and i like to be prepared, im waiting for DF to put up the bed and dressor so i can start arranging the room and putting clothes away.

I havent even had my babyshower yet and cant help myself.  Everytime im with my sisters i convince them to buy something, my younger sister was like OMG, im gona been and spent 500 dollars on baby hickman and she is not even here yet.  So everytime i mention the store she s like im not going lol.  In a way i cant wait for my shower to be over so i can see what i need to buy, i keep checking my registry and im glad people are buyn things from it.

Nicole,
Your message is so cute. Ofcourse its a joy shopping for the little one.IM even worse, we got our own new home & you cant imagine how crazy i am. Last evening we went to Ikea to check the prices of Baby cribs and can u imagine we bot so many things UNPLANNED, NOT required. I went to the extent of buying 2 cloth lamps..that would break with baby around and has star lights all over so that our little darling would love watchin it..hahahhaha.
This morning I was so upset, why we spent so much. I spent 30 mins cribbing & forgot to eat all my medicines this morning.
I havent bot much due to asian tradition, but still couldnt resist so bought a few new clothes, mittens, socks, cap, very very cute booties, receiving blankets, hood tying cloth.
wow..i feel like checking with the Dr if im carrying a princess or a handsome dude :-)

keep writing..

I know babies r us is evil! I should have used a credit card with mileage or something so that I at least got something back from all my crazy spending.

With my son I was on bedrest and didn't do any of the shopping. I was so unprepared. It's a great idea to send your mom plus you can do a lot online.

I WISH I could say I was done. I still have a list and if I am still on bedrest after my appt. tomorrow , I will have to send my mom to go get everything!! And of course I would send her to babies r us....How can you not go in there and not buy everything?!!? lol.

I'm so glad you said something about nursing bras...I found these really nice ones online (can't remember what the site is called anymore...preggo brain) but I need to order them, like now! I am falling so behind. I want to go out and get everything but I can't.

I also need to pack my bag...I am hoping in the next 2 weeks to have things in order and have my bag packed so I don't have to worry about it.

But now you can sit back, relax and organize everything and just wait for Bella's arrival! =)
