Desirae, at night, usually sleeps a 4 to 5 1/2 stretch. Then after that's its usually 2 to 3 hours. Last night she slept from 930 to 6. I was amazed and woke up twice just to check on her. She also cluster feeds right before she sleeps.

Finn used to cluster feed often and still does, especially during a growth spurt. I think he does it to stimulate me to make more milk, for comfort as this is his fussy time, and to help put himself to sleep.  I used to think it was because I was running out of milk but now I know that this is not the case.  I now let him cluster feed for about an hour to hour and a half (to keep my supply up) but then I put him a carrier (the moby or mei tai) and dance with him or put him in his swing and he is asleep within 30 minutes.  This gives my boobs a break (he used to cluster feed for hours and hours).

Cluster feeding at night is really common among a lot of babies. It doesn't mean you don't have the supply. Kylie did it during a growth spurt, when she is fussy, or right before she goes down for the night. Some babies just do it for comfort as well. Does she ever fall asleep nursing? If so, you might be able to help her sleep sooner by doing that. You could try swaddling her and then nursing until she falls asleep and lying her down.

I try to put Anna down at 8am but she always gets up after like 15 minutes and wants to eat more, and cluster feeds usually till she finally conks out at 11 - 12.
She'll then typically sleep for a 4 hour stretch, is up for an hour, goes back to bed for anywhere from 1 to 3 hours, wakes up again to eat for an hour, and sometimes if I'm lucky will sleep again for another 2 hours.

Last night was the most brutal, slept from 12:30 till 4am, then 5am till 6:30am, and refused to go down for a nap till 1pm today. I could not believe it, she's been pretty cranky as a result :P

On her good days though it's typically 11am till 3am, 4am till 6am, then 7am till 9am. I like those nights lol.

Anyone have any advice though on why she cluster feeds for so long at night?? And how to get her to pass out earlier? I try playing with her, and bathing her, and she becomes clearly tired but just refuses sleep :(

Pablum is an infant cereal.

Kylie sleeps really good at night now, maybe 5-8 hours, but that's because she sleeps like an hour and 30 minutes during the day.

Ok, this may be a stupid question, but what is Pablum?

I have been meaning to write down what Soraya has been drinking and I keep messing it up or forgetting....
But I have never made a bottle (she is on formula) over 4 oz, she has usually about 10 bottles a day but only actually gets about 3.5 oz at a feeding plus in the evenings she cluster snacks! She will just want to sip on a bottle and will have under 2 oz. I have tried twice now about .5 a tsp of very watery pablum. I wasnt going to do until she was at least 6 weeks but she changed her sleeping patterns, she was getting up ever 1hr-2hr. for 1 oz. She normally sleep 3-4 hr. Since i used the pablum she is back 4 hr. sometimes 5hr. only at night. She is also much happier! She is now smiling a ton, she smiles at people and no longer has 2-3 hour fussy time! She is also awake for 6-8 hr a day.

i try to get her to take over 3, but she rarely does. i also formula feed for 2 meals now so i can pump every 4 hours instead of every 3. i was always breaking down and giving her formula at a meal or 2 anyway because it was hard for me to keep up. im on fenugreek and blessed thistle and have a guiness a day and i do notice my supply has slightly gone up. i was only getting about 2-2.5 every 3 hours now i get 3. so its nice to get a meals worth at every pump now.

ive been putting her to bed when we start getting ready like around 11. eventually i want her to go to bed around 8-830 when shes in her own room. i put her to bed last night at 945 and got a stretch from 945-230! that was nice, but unusual. im going to try to put her to bed at 930 tonight and keep working earlier. (shes usually sleeping in the living room by then anyway)

My Lily is on a schedule very close to yours...this is a typical day for her:

1230-130am  4 oz formula
330-430 am  4 oz formula
600am  3.5 oz breastmilk
830-900am 3.5 oz breastmilk
1130-1230 3.5 oz breastmilk
230-330 3.5 oz breastmilk
500-600 3.5 oz breastmilk
800-900 3.5 oz breastmilk

Occasionally between 600 and 900 she will cluster feed - an ounce here, 2 ounces there, etc.

Sometimes she goes longer stretches.  Last night I fed her at 9 and she slept til 130 then she woke up again at 430, but I gave her the binky and she slept til 530.

On weekdays I wake up around 615 to get her changed and dressed so we can take the other kids to school, she falls asleep on the way to the school and then I just let her sleep in her carseat until she gets up around 830-9 to eat.

I am so thankful.

Kaelynn would sleep 4 hour stretches waking up eating 3oz usually from 12:30am to 1pm.
When I was exclusively pumping I would get up feed her then pump for 15 minutes by the end I had been up for an hour or more.

Last week I took Kaelynn with me to the chiropractor and he adjusted her. She is now sleeping 8 hours then eats and sleeps another 4 hours. She's now breastfeeding and I'm not pumping every 3-4 hours although I usually am up at 6 hours to pump because I'm so engorged I'm in pain and leaking everywhere.

She sleeps more during the day now also. She's no longer colicie.

If I am lucky, Finn will have one 4 to 4.5 hour stretch but it is not always at night (about 50% it is at night, which I adore).  He does not usually go to sleep until 2am then is up at 4:30 or 5 and then again at 7:30 or 8 and then again at 10-11.  He might stay awake for a bit after 11 and may just eat and sleep again until 1.  But lately he has been going through a growth spurt and has been eating ever hour to hour and a half all day!

I think for a breastfed baby, every three hours is the norm even though I wish this was not the truth.  I feel your pain - by the time I get back to bed, I have been up almost an hour, which means I am only sleeping in 2 hour stretches!  And, I have to return to work part time in 2 weeks - I am absolutely dreading that.  It is a good thing they are so darn cure, isn't it?
