Induction date

I had my 38 week apt today. I'm 40-50% effaced no dilation and baby is at a -2.

I told the Dr that my pubic bone pain has now turned into a constant burning throbbing instead of just when I move. I still get a sharp pain when I move but it's now a constant pain.

He said let's do an ultrasound to check her growth and induce on SUNDAY! I'm a little nervouse to be induced but it's only 4 days before my due date.

I won't know for sure till after the ultrasound on Thursday.

Well I called the hospital at 8am. I was told they had no rooms available. They were waiting on discharges. I I haven't heard from them by 5:30 to call back. I really hate playing the waiting game. I have things to do but feel I can't go do them because the hospital may call and I have to  drop what I'm doing and go.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out I didn't need to be induced at all! My baby and body were ready! I was scheduled for Thursday morning... but my water broke Wednesday morning! Everything went really well! Good Luck to you on Friday... well I'm sure you already had your LO, but I'm still trying to remember what day it actually is... lol! Thanks again for the advice!

I was induced with DD 2 years ago and ended up with an emergency c-section because I never got past 4 cm....you are already further than I got, so don't use me as a guide for you!  I'm sure you'll do fine, just a little extra push from the meds and you'll be ready to go.

I'm due Sept 2nd also but am scheduled for Friday morning for my c-section.  I have gestational diabetes so my OB doesn't like to go much past 39 weeks - so Friday it is!  I don't wan to try the induction again if I'll just end up with another c anyway, so unless something happens on it's own in the next day or so I'm going for the sure thing!  I had my last NST today and he checked and I'm acutally "ripe" and about 1 cm dialated which is a lot more than I ever got with DD, but he still thinks I'll make it to Friday.

GOod luck to you on Thursday.....looks like there are a few of us Sept moms going for August!

Hi! I've never really posted on this forum but I check in every now and then. My name is Danielle. I'm on my second pregnancy, I have a 2 yr. old daughter and am having another little girl. My due date is Sept. 2nd, but I will be meeting my daughter on Thursday! My doctor asked if I would like to be induced at 39 weeks and I said okay! He gave me the option because I am dilated to a 4 and 85% effaced and said he thought my body just needed a little push. I have been having "false labor contractions" for weeks now that hurt! My doctor said especially is second or more pregnancies it's more common to deal with contractions that may very well feel just as bad as real labor contractions and not do anything for the cervix. Also the amount of pressure down there is horrible!! I am also nervous about being induced! Has anyone else been induced before that could give some feedback?? Thanks and Good Luck to you on Sunday!

I always said I didn't want to be induced but the pain has gotten really severe.  I will have more info after Thursday and will know for sure.

I'm really lucky to have a great Dr that will at least discuss options before my due date. I couldn't imagine going 42 weeks before the option was offered.

Wow - your little girl is getting ready.  You might be the second one from the Sept forum to have her baby!   Hopefully you go into labor before Sunday.  I completely feel your pain - I have really bad pubis symphis pain too, as well as sacrum pain.  My doctor will not induce until after 42 weeks, unless the baby is in jeopardy, so at as jschoch said, at least you have that option.

wow thats exciting! i will probably let myself go a week late before i think induction, but im pretty comfortable for the most part and i dont even know my doctors induction policies. also, the thought of an induction makes me nervous im just really hoping she comes on her own soon.

thats great you have that option, you will have your little girl in no time!
