40 week appt update

well today is my due date, and nothing, and no sign of anything. HB 140's, urine test, fundal 40cm, i did lose 2 lbs. I hope its the "youre about to have a baby so your body is ridding itself of water weight" 2 lbs. he asked me when i would want to induce and he was actually leaning towards this friday, but i said id wait until the friday the 10th. ill maybe regret it in a few days, but i really dont want to force her out, and so soon.

after the appt i was in the waiting room making my next appt and my doctor says "can you come back here again there is something that we need to discuss". so i go back there (after a minor heart attack) and he gets a phone call and im just standing there with all these things that could be wrong flying through my head. he just wanted to ask if ill want another rhogam if i go late. PHEW i dont think doctors realize how scary words like that can be.

From what I know, they give you additional fluids before an epidural to prevent any drop in blood pressure - 100/70 is great and should not give you any problems.  My blood pressure has been 90-100/70 this whole pregnancy and my doctor is not concerned at all.

Even though you are anxious to meet Lily, I really think that you are doing the right thing by waiting - for so many reasons.  I also think that requesting the profile is a good idea - I may do the same.

Here's to hoping that we (and LosingMyMind in GA) are all holding babies by next week!

my mom was 5 days late with me and 7 with my sis, so im really not surprised at all. (i also hope that i follow her with her quick labors!). in about 4 days or so im going to request a biophysical profile just to make sure everything is still going good to wait. my sister said Lily doesnt want to give up all the yummy things i eat yet :/

another reason i dont want to be induced is i shouldnt do like cervidal the night before because i am gbs positive and that can increase infection risks as well.

i forgot to mention, my BP has been 100/70 the whole pregnancy. i know normally this is a good number, but does anyone think its on the low side since i want to get an epidural?

I am in the same boat as you.  I am due tomorrow and no sign of anything at all.  I think he is very content with his current accommodations!  My doctor is torn about possible induction because we don't want him to get too big given my pelvis issues but she does not want to induce if my cervix is not ready as that can cause just as many problems and end up in a c-section anyway (and avoiding a c-section would be the whole purpose of inducing).  So I will just wait it out for now.  My childbirth instructor says that the average time for first time moms to deliver is 41 weeks - so maybe we are just following the average trend!

I am glad that the doctor did not have anything serious to discuss!  yes, they have no clue how they sound sometimes. Good luck and I hope Lilly makes up her mind to come join the world soon.

Oh my gosh! Girl I don't blame you for not wanting to evict her and she can't stay in there much longer anyways! She will come in her own time (or around the 10th! when they decide to induce you!) and hopefully her own before the induction. I am @ 38 weeks (I have 2 boys and have never gone past 38 weeks) today and I am really hoping she stays in until her due date on the 15th. I have my fingers crossed for you!!!! Come on Lilly!
