My friend has cancer... we have had our girls name picked out for atleast 2 years since we started trying to conceive Ariella may Clarkson. I was thinking of naming our baby after my friend so she would be Colleen may Clarkson. My hubby doesn't like the name nearly as much and im not a huge fan but it would hold so much meaning to my family and friends. I also dont really know how to ask her if i can use her name its a rare form of cancer and her odds of living over 5 years is slim but i dont want to make her think about it like in a bad way or hurt her any more then she is.... shes 23 and leaving behind a 6year old a 3 year old and a new born

Colleen Ariella May Clarkson... give her 2 middle names, it's very trendy these days and you get all the names you like in one. I think that flows well too! Also even though her legal first name would be Colleen you can call her Ariella.

The diagnosis was just yesterday we are hoping for a second opinion and other options but shes in shock we started a fund raiser and have raised just over 2000$ in under a day but she deleted her Facebook and hasn't answered the phone i think we overwhelmed her and even though we are trying to give her hope and show her we care shes facing her mortality and to put anywhere from a few weeks to 5 years on your life i just couldn't imagine how it feels. I may ask her in a few weeks once she isn't shutting out the world but i feel like i have to really watch how i word it.

I ould really hate to use it as the middle name i feel like if one of my sister's have another id be taking the name off the market for them if i use it as a middle name. My husband and i share a birthday in may and have always liked having may as the middle name so i think it would be colleen may or Ariella may.
