I'm a fan of a subtle approach watching as they realize what they are seeing is great. With my first we announced her on mothers day and just got a card that said grandma on it. Watching my mom read the card then pause and reread it then look to me for confirmation followed by her excitement was priceless to me. With number 3 we went even more subtle. My husband wore a shirt that said "sympathy bump" to our families Easter picnic. We enjoyed watching people read the shirt and not get it for almost an hour before someone finally got it and the reactions where great. Every one that read it,and didn't get it was like "how did I miss that"
Thanks everyone!!! Those are all awesome ideas, we are so excited and I know either way our family will be ecstatic :)
I love newmommy idea. That is so cute and such a nice keepsake. i would do that. But doing it on Christmas is so exciting.
Have a picture made up with a christmas background that says "were trading our Silent Nights for a bundle of joy - arriving (month) (year)" and stick it in a frame. :) easy & cheap gift they will love!
aww get an ornament thats says new baby grandbaby ! how exciting :) i dont even know you but im excited for you guys lol
I saw a cute video where the mom to be wrapped up tshirts for her mom dad and sister. Basic shirts saying world's best grandma and number 1 aunt etc. She sat all 3 down on Christmas and had them open at the same time. The sister and mom were screaming and jumping and the dad began to cry he was so happy it was a really sweet video on you tube.
I made a calendar with pictures of my son. For the month of July he's wearing a shirt that says "this guy is going to be a big brother" and on the July 9th box it says "baby #2 us due". I don't know if they will be able to notice the message right away but that's how we plan to announce this pregnancy.
First of all CONGRADULATIONS♡
I would make an ornament saying #1 grandparents. Or a wrap up a little onesie :) or buy some Christmas hats and write Mommy and on your husband's it can say Daddy
Buy or make an ornament. I really want to annouce my pregnancy on Christmas but my hubby thinks its too soon. :/ I'm five weeks so it is early but I'm so excited I want to share lol.
We just found out we are pregnant too and making an announcement to my husband's family. We decided to put two mugs that say "mommy to be and daddy to be." We're going to very nonchalant about it until one of the family members notices it. The cups definitely stand out like a sore thumb, since they have colorful Polk a dots.
Get a pair of baby shoes or a cute grandma onesie. And wrap it up and give it to the grandparents as their present.
