Help, please!

I am 8 5/7 wks and I am having the worst time with morning sickness. For the last 5 days all I have been able to keep down is cereal. My Doctor gave me some anti nausea meds but they dont work. I called and let them know and they said to just wait until my appt. Friday. Any tips? I miss eating real food.

With first baby I couldn't keep anything down. Doc recommended to eat saltine crackers as soon as I woke and to have a glass of ice water. An empty stomach and dehydration can make nausea worse. I noticed a difference right away. Pretty much I had to force feed crackers every two hours so I could eat later. Either way, I lost 6 pounds in first trimester because I couldn't eat as much as I wanted. Doc said as long as you're taking a prenatal supplement, the baby will grow just fine. If it needs nutrients it will take it from your bones/ blood/ and muscles. In the end my baby was an 8.5 pounder. I'm only 4'11"...

Thank you, I hate it because not only do I miss real food, but being emotional means that when I can't keep down the food that sounds or tastes so go I bawl my eyes out lol. I appreciate the tips and will try them out. If not I'll just enjoy me some cereal. Thank you so much ladies!

Hey girl--I am now 33 weeks, I had a really rough first trimester - I was sick from the get go until week 18 when it started tapering off. ---I know you are tired of cereal, but if that's all you can keep down, stick with it---try adding fruit to it to get some more nutrients and make sure you are drinking plenty of water and taking those prenatal vitamins!!!. It will get better eventually, just hang in there and listen to your body---if you are tired, sleep-hungry, eat...you are still as the Dr's say "in survival mode".-my go to was grapes...every time I'd get up even to bathroom, I'd grab a few grapes then go back to bed or whatever I was doing---it felt like all I did was eat (this was every hour to every other hour) - but when it came down to it - it was the only thing to keep the nausea edge off...no matter what I was still nauseated,  but the edge was taken off. Keep your head up, Good luck!
