Anyone had or has an std while pregnant? I'm wondering if I should ask my ob for a c section so it won't come in contact with baby

i knotted of someone that have herpes n just recently delivered her baby vaginally bit she was given antibiotics thru her iv so baby wouldn't get infected. I thought that they would give her a csection because of that particular std but nope. So you'll b fine as well just talk with ur obgyn

If it's something like herpes I would  think you can still have a vaginal birth as long as you're not currently having an outbreak? Definitely ask your doctor though.

I'm not sure if that was for me, but I meant hsv.. not hiv. I've been tested since I got pregnant,  it was part of my initial bloodwork

Your talking about HIV I think they can put you on anti vitals or something like that. You should just get checked and take it from there.

I'm in sort of the same boat-ish. I don't but my partner does. He was very honest from the start of our relationship. he is an amazing man who happened to fall in with a dishonest woman a few years before we got together.  That has been a big concern is if it is passed to me and then in turn to our baby. That being said, I do have friends who have had natural births and have hsv and it hasn't been passed to the children.

I think it's awesome you asks! Inform the doctor as the early the more options. Best of luck

If u don't mind me asking what kind of STD are u referring to because there are a few that can be treated and u can have a baby naturally. My last pregnancy I found out I was pregnant and also my husband was cheating (he gave me chlamydia)  but took the antibiotics and had my healthy daughter @40 weeks and vaginally

I would tell the doctor you have an STD, they will more than likely take her out via csection so no possible way of getting baby infected:) glad you are open about it, most people just keep spreading it because they are embarrassed.good luck with everything
