My friend needs a urgent wake up call!!!!! People may dis agree with me but my friend things it's ok to smoke pot while pregnant please can someone explain that's it's not safe?

No matter what thc will always be in your child system especially if you breast feed your child, your breast milk contains thc! And it's not pathetic everyone I know that has smoked while being pregnant hasn't had any issues like that, but everyone I know that didn't smoke has had issues so ya my views on it is different and that doesn't make me pathetic js! And it doesn't make any other mother pathetic either! When you grow to see the difference I've seen then you make your own choice, I've seen more healthy babies come from pot smoking parents then I have from non pot smoking parents! It would probably be different if my doctor said I've had issues or that something is wrong with my son, but he is healthy and strong so that's what matter!

I'm sorry such bs. I have been a pot head for years and the moment I found out I was 3 weeks pregnant I haven't smoked since and that's because I'm not going to be selfish and do something that has absolutely NO BENEFITS for my child. And FYI the hospital doesn't drug test your kid but when they are born and test are run on them for their overall health. THC will show positive. I know someone who smoked all their pregnancy and their baby was THC positive and had a lung birth defect...and sorry but you can't ever take that back so why Risk being so self centered. Your not ready to be a parent if you can't make sacrifices for your children. No one says you can't have some time to do what u gotta do after birth but your child always come first. So  really "good for you"  moms who could never put down the pipe and had a healthy baby. Consider yourselves lucky your child's okay..but also consider your self pathetic for risking it. Sorry to be honest

The only thing that pot can do is make it so there is a chance your baby can get ADHD, and well obviously your doctor hasn't done his/her research on it! Pot help in more ways then one, for mothers that are not gaining enough weight that the doctors know smoke pot they tell them to smoke more because pot increases your appetite. This is my first pregnancy and because I smoke it I haven't had any complications at all, but I know some mothers that had smoked it before and when they found out they quit and they had a **** ton of complications! So of course I'm not going to quit my doctor has had nothing but good news for me about my son, so way stop something that seems to be helping keep a healthy baby? Honestly there is nothing wrong with smoking it as long as you have everything you need for your child! No one can sit and tell me I'm not a proper parent because I smoke pot, my son has everything he needs and he has had everything he needs for months now, the only thing I still have to get is a crib mattress but I have the money put away and has been put away and not touched in few months! Being closed-minded is what ruins this people! Of course people that don't and never have smoked pot thinks it's bad but they clearly can't see the positive things it does to/for the mother and the child! Studies have shown that mothers that smoke pot during pregnancy tend to have social children unlike mother that don't smoke it!

You only feel like it's okay because you smoke while pregnant too lol I actually have spoken to a doctor about it and it is bad for the baby. Any type of smoke is bad for the baby. Even if there is no proven facts that it does harm to the baby, why risk it? Even though it's not a horrible drug, it's still a drug.

One I don't think your friend is doing anything wrong at all, just because a parent smoke pot doesn't make them a bad parent, also the hospital can't do a drug test without her consent! I'm sorry to but pot is not the bad at all, the only way it ***** up your parenting is if you choose to put it before your child, where I'm from if you tell your doctor you smoke it and have been for years he tells you not to quit I know lots of people that smoke it but their doctor has told them not to quit! There is no proof that it harms the baby in anyway! Honestly if she has everything she needs for her child then there is no problem with her smoking it, when she starts choosing pot over her child that's when there is a problem but even so I can't see it being pot she is choosing over her child! You people are all very closed-minded and obviously have never actually talked to a doctor about smoking pot while pregnant, so before you judge this person for smoking pot maybe you should go and talk to a doctor! Cause I smoke it and I have a healthy strong baby boy due December 21st

A Mom that smokes while pregnant isn't ready to be a Mom.. When you become pregnant, it's not about you anymore. It's about your child.

Not only that but once you have a child in you.  You want to do what's best for your baby and that's giving up all bad habits! In my own personal opinion that's a horrible habit. And if your friend dies not stop she does not deserve to have a child in my opinion. Because 1. Like the comment above and can get her child taken. 2. Smoking pot is a act of immaturity when pregnant. 3. It ruins your way of parenting. This is all my opinion from what I have encountered. Hey smoking while pregnant shows that she wants to do what she wants not what is good for her baby

Many hospitals blood test and or do a fecal test on the infant in the hospital, if there are traces of thc, which there will be if she's a regular smoker, they can and will take her child.
